It is and I think what the guy said at the end is true too (spoiler if you've not watched the final episode)
That when he started out, Joe himself really did care about the animals, and was (even in misguided ways) trying to help them... But as the money increased, his care for the animals decreased, until it became ALL about money and reputation and any care for the animals was totally gone. He was totally corrupted by the small slice of power and attention he got in his own "little kingdom".

The whole thing is just too wild. Every time you think a plot twist is done, you have another one, and another one, and another one. Every 15 minutes or less it's something more insane than the previous one. I understand the memes about it now :skull:

I'm actually shocked she's the one getting the most heat when Joe exploited straight men with drugs to fed their addictions to keep them like trophys. The way he filmed and even invited the media to his funeral and exploited his family was horrific and employees have come forward to say he used to kill tiger cubs he couldn't sell because he didn't want to feed them. Don't breed them then if you can't feed them.

The other guy who had several wives was just as awful, blatently taking advantage of vulnerable women and basically holding them captive to feed his tiny-penis-big-man energy. He's another accused of abusing animals, breeding them so he had cute babies for guests to hold and then killing them when they grew too big to use as props.

Theres no evidence Carole killed her husband, I mean she could have it's not impossible but I think of all the people on the show she was the only one who cared about the animals in her care.

He is still with the woman he left Joe for, they are happily engaged and have 1 child. He was on some TV show talking about Tiger King and he said he's in a much happier place.

I agree that the animals were horribly mistreated by all but I don't think Carole Baskin is much better - most of them on the reunion thing were pretty clear about it. Joe was awful and it was never about the animals, but they're all as bad as each other, some just better than others at acting like they care. I don't buy for a second that Carole Baskin gives a **** about tigers. The only ones who actually seem to are the ones being paid rock bottom wages to do the day-to-day care.

But I also don't particularly see Joe being thought of as a hero? He's seen as a joke... He's a living meme... It's nothing to do with him as a person. Yes if he was out he'd be lapping up the attention but he doesnt even get that... There's a sort of perfect irony in it, really. He got the fame and attention he always wanted, but now he's the one in a cage, unable to actually capitalise on it.
