I don’t watch soaps and I think tv’s simply dire. Pretty much everything I watch now is on demand.

Chris Tarrant has said it's mostly fiction/comedy hasn't he?

Not really interested...

I only watch Emmerdale, but oddly enough having it on only 3 nights a week has made me look forward to it more than I would when it was 5. I just think watching 5 a week is tiring - this way I much prefer.

It's not just soaps, all scripted shows are going to be delayed for several months if not a year+... It's going to be streaming and re-runs of existing shows for quite a while.

Thankfully there are a lot of good shows already out there... And plenty worth a rewatch.

I miss gorgeous EastEnders :(

If it was spread out across the week it wouldn’t be too bad but only airing on Monday and Tuesday followed by a 5 day gap is AWFUL

I’m quite enjoying Monday, Wed, Fri and just one episode :omgno:

I think it’d do the soaps the world of good to go down to 3 eps a week in terms of quality. This might be an interesting trial period for it. It is weird without them on every night though

If you like Shows with a Dramatic flair to them then I recommend watching Violet Evergarden on Netflix, it's a Japanese Anime, but it's very well made imo.

And speaking for myself, I've been checking out my first Gundam Anime series + Deutschland 86 so I'm doing fine for TV.

But then I'm not a Soap man anyway.

Ive enjoyed the Hollyoaks classic episode (Although i wish they would show older episodes and stop showing ones from last year)

TBH im surprised they havent started showing them on More4 or something after the success of the other classic soaps

If you think it's bad now, just wait until in 6 months time when all the stuff they were supposed to be filming now is not ready and the TV is a wasteland.

I meant TV across the board. :oh:

Soaps are made so quickly they'll be the only new material on in 6 months. Everything else will be delayed.

Everything else will be delayed. Most things are already delayed tbh, and the best part is that everything was right at the end of the season production schedule so most shows are missing just the finale or maybe finale and penultimate episode :joker:

E.g Supernatural is at the very end of its 15 year run and production on the finale isn't finished. I mean it's not funny for those involved I'm sure but on the other hand, it is quite funny.

Supernatural is ending? Feels like it's been running most of my life. :joker:It's on its final season (season 15) and has about 5 episodes left... With no air dates :joker:. No post-production done and I don't think they even filmed the finale before lockdown so it'll likely be...? A year?? The things that have filmed and just need post production done (quite a lot of US shows) will be out as soon as people can go back to "office based work" but things that haven't filmed yet... I think it'll be quite a while before they're given the all clear for filming. You can "social distance" in an office, you can't on location or in a studio.

So, are they airing all of the episodes they have bar those 5 or holding off on most of the episodes until they can air all together?

yes like the walking dead season 10 finale, that is in final stage of post-production so once people can be back in office for last editing details they'll also announce a date when they plan to air it (and they already mentioned they'll air it as a ''special'')

Stranger Things season 4 is also in post-production phase so just editing details for all episodes, so same there, once cleared to go back to office they'll announce release dates after too

Stranger Things was still mid-way through filming so they still have a way to go not just on post-production.
