Can't watch. He keeps casting these sh*tty actors in everything.

I feel like he has a really short attention span and gets bored of his other stuff too quickly

I wonder which actors Ryan Murphy cast just to see them in a gay sex scene.

I think the network were uncomfortable with the S2 concept being Charles/Diana

Definitely.
It's why AHS is so pants. He creates a million different threads every season and leaves every single one of them hanging at the end. I wouldn't be surprised if he has ADHD or something.

I might just watch this because of this hot STUD from the politician being in it

Seeing him take Patti LuPone on a stairway was.... something

First Ep was better than the second Ep of this, but I’ll finish it because it’s only 7 eps

WOW. The best series so far in 2020 hands down. I was a bit unsure after the first episode, but it builds up so perfectly I feel in love with all the characters (apart from henry LOL). Avis is iconic isn’t she? Roy and Archie phew! a couple. I think it was also just nice not to watch something ****ing depressing.

They kind of hinted to S2 at the end. I hope Ryan doesn’t screw it up.

If they did a S2 I’d rather it was set maybe 20 or so years down the line with a new cast and a completely different story, some of the characters from S1 could make cameos or w/e but I think these characters have had their story and why ruin it with a second one.

I thought it was fine although...

I get what they were trying to do by redeeming Anna May Wong, Rock Hudson and Hattie McDaniel by telling an idealised fictional version of history but it just didn't sit right with me. It felt disrespectful to the struggles of these people who would never see the benefits of the trails they blazed, it kind of felt like they were lessening the impact of their lives by giving them an easy happily ever after that they never got. For a series that was based around issues of race and sexuality, I think they overcame those issues far too easily and with little consequence. Equality is a hard fought battle and I think the idealised ending of a film's release pretty much pushing a country's narrative decades ahead of schedule felt like a fairy tale that just undercut reality.

I get the intent behind it but it felt... wrong and misguided. I think they did more to minimise these people's stories rather than redeem the injustices comitted against them.

Wait...

Rock Hudson survives? Or he lives long enough to see Aids no longer a stigma? Kind of sounds like they went for a Once Upon a Time in Hollywood kind of twist and it not working.

I was just writing up another thread which made me think of something else that didn't sit right with me with this series.

The portrayal of the studio system. The system in place in the Golden Era of Hollywood was vicious and I think Hollywood presents it in a completely inaccurate fashion.

Just started this (shamefully late) - liking it very much but didn’t realise how raunchy it would be MY GOD.

Just finished this.

I get and agree with all of the criticisms but I enjoyed it for what it was.

That’s got to be one of the most infuriating endings I’ve seen for a while though - like wtf? THAT’s How you’re ending this? After ALL THAT!?
