I agree that they are filthy things though, I personally would say at most two uses before you bin and replace, but that's probably bad for dolphins and whatnot.

If you run bleach around the bowl prior to defecating you will never have an issue. Otherwise a jug of hot water will suffice.

Not in my house.
Loo brushes should only be used on a clean looking loo, for scrubbing under the ridge.
If you need a number two, then pop some loo roll in the loo.
A good flush afterwards and then some bleach or loo cleaner around the bowl.

That's so much work when you can just brush it quickly. You use bleach, paper towels, vinegar and scourers for one job?

I obviously use a toilet brush that sits in bleach it’s a tall one and has a lid I put toilet marigolds on and use a sponge with one side that’s rough after use it goes in the bin.
