I noticed the Big Blagger fan site has been streaming classic episodes. I was thinking it really should be Channel 4 and 5 to show them there is still interest in the show.

How much of it is to do with Channel 4 and how much is Endemol?

I don't get why old episodes get copyright-strikes on youtube? Like, if Endemol were selling DVDs or had monetised streams I'd understand, but they lose literally nothing by having them up.

I'm pretty sure C4's series of Big Brother now lie in Endemol's hands. If I remember rightly, back in 2015 when C5 started airing those best bits series they did, it was because Endemol got the rights to the footage from C4 to air on C5.

Potentially means Endemol have the entire catalogue of Big Brother in their hands.

Was that Endemol getting permission to use the footage (was a "courtesy of channel 4" tag used?) or them actually owning the footage?

As iconic as BB5/6/7 were it was before the country got super PC and so many things would never be shown on TV today. I can expect them getting a lot of complaints for Sams treatment in BB7 if this was to go forward

It's a streaming service, they can get away with a lot more as people can choose to view it or not. If they were back on 9pm on a main channel they'd probably get complaints.

Honestly couldn't remember - you'd have to have a look back.

I hope this is the case. Although I think Nikki will lose a lot of fans

She has a lot of fans? :fan:

Surely she isn't that famous anymore, and the people who do know her/remember her will have originally watched her originally on the show? It won't be a surprise to them.

I guess if Netflix brought the rights they may want to show it worldwide

I didn't remember about Nikki calling Sam a "man beast" or the misgendering was until I rewatched

If Channel 5 proved anything all a broadcaster has to do is air an honest warnings prior to the content being aired and they're pretty much safe.
