Dilemma

You are in a small syndicate for the lottery consisting of you and your partner and 2 other couples. You always play the same numbers agreed by you all.

One weekend its your turn to pay for the tickets which you do. Your numbers come up and you win 18 million pounds.

Do you as the ticket holders honour the syndicate and split the money thereby getting 6 million per couple. Or do you keep the lot? What friendship?

I would be over the moon if my friend won £18m and I got £6m of it... So I would definitely share the money if it was me who won.

Well, surly in a syndicate you all pay your share each time. We get them all the time in work. They all send the money to the person who is going actually getting the tickets. So, in that scenario the winnings are theirs too.

Also, if I was that much of a tight arse about splitting the winnings I wouldn't be in a syndicate to begin with. Just seems quite pointless if you're that selfish, just buy your own ticket.

I would definitely share because I actually couldn’t live with myself if I was deceitful...and secondly if you are in a syndicate with two couples they would most probably be good friends so I wouldn’t want to lose them.
I have to say though...if we are all honest that thought would go through your mind at some point :laugh:

I'd split it & then prob help out some of my family & homies with at least like 10% of the rest.... and then prob gamble the other $5 mil away and regret giving any of the $18m :(
