A railway ticket collector died from coronavirus after she was spat at by an irate passenger on the station concourse.
Belly Mujinga, 47, who had suffered long-term respiratory problems, died in hospital on April 5 – 13 days after the alleged assault at London’s Victoria Station.
The mother-of-one and an unnamed colleague was with her at the time and was also spat on, and both went on to contract Covid-19.

Murder, plain and simple

Actually its manslaughter but they should face prison

Absolutely horrendous. Unfortunately they’ll no doubt get off with a very lenient sentence.

If they knew they were infected, then it’s murder

If they knew they were infected, then it’s murder

Murder is the intent to kill manslaughter is the intent to hurt which leads to death and they wont be able to charge them with murder because they will argue that you cant guarantee someone will die from catching it.

I think they'll get the book thrown at them for this and quite rightly, we are living in an era where your saliva is a deadly weapon that should be reflected in sentencing for me.

There is actually no court on this land that would allow a murder charge to go ahead the most they can go for is Manslaughter

They should be charged with the highest degree of manslaughter then. They went in with the intent of giving someone the virus, and didn't care that the person could have health issues.

The act of spitting at anyone should result in being charged , nevermind the the act it actually killing someone.

Hope they are punished very severely.

And yes it’s manslaughter not murder

The spitter is a pure scumbag and should already have been charged with minor assault for the spitting itself.

However I agree it's closer to manslaughter than murder.

That is repulsive. I hope the spitter is dealt with and charged with the highest charge legally.

Unfortunately there is no way to prove that the spitting incident was when Covid was contracted, so you can't really charge with more than assault.

they actually upgraded the spitting offence to a potential 2 year prison sentence when it was used in conjunction with the threat of covid - still nothing like a manslaughter offence though

It's sad and that person is disgusting but sadly there's no evidence that'll show that this is how they contracted the virus
