Interesting that this is going to be a C4 production with no involvement from C5 at all - episodes will come from all series, including C4 and C5 and will span across both Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother.

No other details on when it's on, how many eps or how often they'll air etc yet.

C5 washed their hands of it so presumably Endemol can sell all old episodes wherever they want.

There was a tabloid story a couple of months ago about "secret talks" with C4. Maybe that was just about licensing old episodes for this series and getting Davina and Rylan on board to do the intros.

I meant this is likely an audience gauge for something else. If I remember correctly it took several years of campaigning to get them to do a Brookside Best Of. C4 have done this with little pressure from anyone.

When is Big Brother on television?

The first Big Brother programme is on Channel 4 on Tuesday 18th July from 9.00-10.00pm. On Friday 21st there is a half-hour programme at 6.30pm. From Monday 24th there will be programmes broadcast six days a week. On Mondays there is an hour long programme from 8.00-9.00pm. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays there is a half-hour programme at 11.00pm. On Fridays, starting from July 28th, there are two half-hour live studio shows at 8.30pm and 11.00pm hosted by Davina McCall.

These will show the build up to, and the actual eviction of one of the participants… If you miss a show, don't worry, every Saturday you can catch up on the events of the past week in an hour long omnibus, and of course you can find all the news of what's been happening on the website.

I really hope they don't put the BB9 shock task and the bedsit eviction in - they were on the DVD that C4 released at the end of UBB, I'd like to think they'd be a bit more original than that!

It'd be nice to see something from BB11, just because it was their final series.

If Davina has had any input she'll select the box task episode, she always listed that in her favourites in interviews.

As much as I love the box task, I'd rather they didn't pick it. There's two episodes of it, and if only one episode is being shown from each series, it'll be pointless to show the box task since we'll be only seeing half of it.

Honestly, I think they should go with day 54, one of Science's last days in the house. That episode was packed with so much drama.

Probably not. Iirc, after they're nominated, Grace and Nikki just make fun of Susie, steal and drink her alcohol and act like mean girls.

If they actually had intentions to bring this back I'm almost positive we would have heard about them either building a new house, doing auditions, any rumoured format changes, etc. I think this is just a trip down memory lane and it was cheap to make - footage already exists - and from what I can gather Dermot and the gang broadcast themselves from home. What's bizarre to me is that Channel 4 decided to produce this after shedding the the show and not mentioning it for years. Not that I'm complaining. Big Brother IS C4 to me.

Could viewing figures and interest in the Best Bits possibly stir talks about bringing it back? Absolutely. C4 isn't going to ignore ratings if they're high, but whether or not it makes it past the drawing board is another question entirely. One can hope though.

Yeah he doesn't actually need to be involved at all. Davina WAS BB during its heyday, and Dermot was a big part of its success too. Emma has been a part of it since like what, 2006? 2007? So her inclusion makes sense. Whereas Rylan has only been prominent during a period of shite. I get why he's co-hosting though, seeing as he's a regular mainstream name now, but it just seems like he has forced himself into the 'BB Family' when as a housemate he wasn't hugely memorable in the grand scheme of things.
