I think I am past the point where I would crack and give in. This may become a way of life.

Why did you start it Kate? Were you drinking too much? Or just fed up of drinking?

I was thinking about it for a healthier lifestyle and then Stacey took her pledge of abstinence on the forum so I thought oh yes I will join her. Plus it was around the time I moved in with my boyfriend and he doesn't drink so that was another incentive Annie. X

Why does your bf not drink?

That’s it lt, there must be a rational explanation.

That doesn't even make sense. How can they be alkies if they don't drink eh?

It’s more than likely true, when I say I don’t drink people look puzzled.

People that are tee total usually have had a drink problem than just not interested in drinking alcohol.

So a bit of stereotyping then. Its not the case always.

It is an it isn’t, people who have had a drink problem and been to aa know they can’t even have one drink.

I have a lady friend who has been sober for nearly 16 years. The aa group she used had a coffee morning on a Tuesday in a garden centre.

Same sort of thing if you are in a club drinking water people think you are pilling.

So a bit of stereotyping then. Its not the case always.

It's a one sentence saying. By definition it's a stereotype. It's the grain of truth that gives it life.

My grannies generation, before AA, thought (rightly) the drink would win in the end and you wouldn't as the partner
