the Progressive Reform Party (VHP) of Chan Santokhi have booked their best election result since 1973 ''108,256 votes in total''

however President Dési Bouterse's NDP, meanwhile, lost a substantial number of its seats likely in part due to increasing economic woes in the country and criminal charges brought against him in prior years. ''65,654 votes in total''

the General Liberation and Development Party (ABOP) had its best election result since it's foundation in 1990 going 3 up to 8 seats in total

VHP leader Santokhi is in running for presidency now against the now president Bouterse

ABOP leader Ronnie Brunswijk is announced as coalition's candidate for chairman of the national assembly

Yes Covid Lock down
has not helped.

[Bouterse's party has ruled the former Dutch colony for 10 years, and campaigned on its record of increasing social welfare spending and healthcare, as well as several infrastructure projects.]

yes

also if Bouterse is no longer a president, he could face some years in jail (as the one thing stopping him from going to jail now is his presidency)

''Suriname has a total debt of more than 3 billion dollars (converted 2.5 billion euros). Surinam President Chan Santokhi announced this in a press conference on Monday, writes The True Time. The people of Suriname are so lucky to border French Guiana.
Express tickets into the EU available.
No control.
Lawless border.
Thank god we are out of that mess waiting to happen.

:conf: Lucky

these debts of 2.5 billion dollars are really not something they are happy with right now, so that is what their main focus is on now, fighting the economic crisis

but they are happy about evil bouterse no longer being in power
