Great inspirational Lady.

So sad to hear of this today, however a long and fulfilled life.
Really one of the true greats.

A great age and a great life, it might sound cold but I think it's hard to feel sad when people like her die since they had a great run of things. For people like her, I'd rather celebrate the life they had. Few people get the chance to lead a life as fulfilled as hers' likely was.

Rest in peace :clap1:

45yrs ago she came round a hospital where I was working. She was a lovely lady and had all the time in the world to talk to the patients and we nurses. I was surprised how little she was.

So sad...but she had a good long life. Also how nice that 'We'll Meet Again' was mentioned in the Queens address to the nation only a few weeks ago.

The word legend is overused these days, but not in this case. In her early twenties she was bumping along in a jeep through the jungles of Borneo in the middle of a war, in order to reach the "forgotten army". And when she got there, she'd sing to however many men were there. They've tried hard to foist the title "forces sweetheart" on to lots of people... Katherine Jenkins among them... but there will only ever be one.

Rest in Peace Dame Vera x
