Just saw this on Twitter, exciting news! If this gets good ratings and Channel 4 can salvage the brand, then we might be able to expect more Civilian Big Brother too.

I’m all for it. Feel like Channel 5 damaged the reputation of civilian BB too much, yet their celeb series remained popular til the end. Another CBB would be the perfect way to gauge interest and hopefully lead to another civvy series. Plus it’d explain the oversaturation of CBB eps on Best Shows Ever.

And on a Channel 4 budget, the calibre of celebs they’d book would hopefully be pretty good.

I hope this is true. A shame it would be CBB, but CBB got the better ratings.

As for leaving it off air for the time being, doesn't necessarily mean it'll be back on our screens in 6 months. This could still be a year out. The short duration of CBB could be a good start for C4 to test the waters.

I really hope no significant format changes would be in store. I would hate to see Davina in a Chen-bot position. Davina is just too good with the live crowds.

If they're going to do it, they would need to hype it up massively and pump money into it to get a great line-up of actual celebrities. It'll tank if it's the calibre of "celebrity" they had on Ch5 (usually one big name, a couple more recognisable faces, and then a bunch of reality TV people).

Better to bring back a stripped civilan BB on a smaller scale with less expectation than they had before.

That could drastically change the tone and the sort of people who would agree to do the show. Don't suppose that would be a bad thing, CBB1 and CBB2 were for charity and had more famous names than the rest.

Because most if not all c4 "celebrity" reality shows are in aid of Stand Up to cancer now, similarly how a lot of BBC celebrity editions are for comic relied. SU2C didn't exist back when cbb was on c4 so things might, if not probably would be different now.

I think if they were gonna bring it back though they would start with CBB. It was rating much higher than BB when it was axed.

I do think that an announcement is coming. Replaying episodes for the 20th anniversary of a show no longer on air which they themselves shelved 10 years ago? I can’t imagine them bothering if they aren’t at least planning something.

That was completely different though. They were all still getting paid as usual the only difference was the winner happens to get to donate 50k to a charity of their choice.
