No, but for various sociological reasons it is utilized more by white people than by ethnic minorities. I doubt you'd find many ethnic minorities being harassed or treated badly on a country walk, but it's apparently an environment where many FEEL uncomfortable and out of place. The reasons for that are worth having a look at - it doesn't have to be accusatory :shrug:.

He was, then he ****ed it with an ill-advised panel show comment and is trying to become the new Katie Hopkins. That's why it's sad. I'm sure he's not struggling for money but he's gone down the "shock tweets" route as a backlash because he's feeling rejected and frustrated and knows he's damaged his career. It's... undignified.

I think that basically is what it means. Little country villages are seen as expensive to live in (and from experience, that is very true) and thus the domain of well-off white folks. Yes, anyone can VISIT the countryside, but it's still seen as "behing inhabited by" a certain demographic, which I imagine can make others feel out of place. Honestly I feel out of place sometimes and we have a pretty decent household income at this point. But we're living in a village where it's "normal" for people to live in £1 million+ houses and buy a new Range Rover every two years. And going by the "local facebook page" a lot of them have exactly the sort of attitudes you'd guess they have :umm2:.

Police said they are investigating allegations of racist and homophobic abuse targeted at the BBC’s LGBT correspondent after actor Laurence Fox tweeted about him.

Ben Hunte, who reports on LGBT affairs for the corporation, said while he and his relatives are fine he “will let the police take over”.
