The two ends of the spectrum are both abominations, but I’d rather eat hockey puck steak than bloody steak

Yes I have... meat doesn't really have a 'flavour' unless you marinate it or whatever but the quorn has a GREAT flavour and way nicer texture

Meat has lots of flavour, that's why we love eating it. I might give these a go as an experiment. I can't even imagine they'll taste good, but I think that's my preconceived bias.

I used to be a medium rare person, but I’m leaning more to rare these days. The more cooked it is, the more dry and bland it gets. I have a well done lover in my house and they’re not allowed steak because they don’t deserve it tbh

Steak isn’t meant to be cooked well done so don’t disrespect the meat and cook it like that :oh:

I would throw up on your steak if I saw blood running of out it :hee:

I can tolerate slight pink maybe, but then steak would be the last thing I would order on a menu

You wouldn’t see blood running out because there’s no blood in steak :hee: All the blood is removed during slaughter, the red liquid is called myoglobin, it’s just a protein that carries oxygen through the muscle :smug: The protein has a red pigment that turns grey the more it is cooked.

Medium rare

Also the texture of quorn is the worst thing about it :joker:

Still mooing is the perfect level for me.

Medium rare usually, occasionally rare if the steak is a good cut.

They're quite nice, a bit softer texture though to meat

I rarely eat steak but I like it medium. Well-done is too chewy and rare is just rank!

Well done or Medium well. I can’t eat a steak if there’s a chance it will start mooing back at me.

Medium/medium rare, depends on the cut. On the rarer side for fillet, medium for sirloin or ribeye.

I can't go "full rare"... I do like it, but it always ends up making me feel a bit sick :worry:

Well done steak is just a waste of money... if you like well cooked beef, get a larger joint and slowcook it .

Love these.:wavey:

Are they nice Kazanne.

I'm now vegetarian too and I haven't felt a need to see something resembling meat on my plate.

Obviously at present I'm not going to friends for dinner or out.
However some have asked would I like or try things like Quorn products.
I've always declined before.

So just curious.

Yeah and it's ground meat which is indeed DISGUSTING undercooked. In a lot of French restaurants they do burgers medium rare, which I did not know until biting into one, and was nearly sick on the table :bawling:.

I saw a documentary a few weeks back where some current day cowboys strap a thick cut of raw steak under their saddle and ride all day then come evening ( when they eat ) the steak is warm and tenderised and ok to eat there and then .. most still cook it though .

Hmmm, when you say ground meat it invokes images of mince, and good tartare is fine steak, sliced and diced.
