I would like one cinema to go super dark, and only play pandemic/end of the world movies.

That would be hilarious but probably not great for business

I can't even remember the last time I went to the cinema. The last film I remember was that Kristen Stewart/Angelina Jolie snow white film. The huntsman I think it was called, and that was out just before the London Olympics. I really struggle with cinema seats, and my legs just seize up completely.

cinema's here are also gonna show some classics too
what is now currently popular in the cinema, lack of new content
both the first movies of
Jurassic Park
Jaws
the former's franchise also does still well on our tv channels, each summer being shown all of them 1-5 :clap1:

Because you prefer watching at home or because you'd be nervous about Covid19?
all the latest releases were pushed out on streaming services

I really only go to see new films, but I am going to feel a bit nervous sitting in an enclosed public space again, not going to lie.
I quite want to see Sonic mind you out of those, but I wouldn't go to a cinema for that lol.

Yeah, I will be a bit nervous too tbh, I'm just going to see how things go in the next 2 weeks now we've more or less completely reopened
I enjoyed Sonic

I like 90s Jim Carrey, so wanted to see it for him
A few years ago they had a drive-in cinema at a harbour locally, showing Jaws and a couple of other films. I wanted to go to that, but I didn't have a car then

That would have been excellent  Yeah they have a place that does drive through here sometimes but I never gone, it's definitely something I need to do at some point though

I went to see The Conjuring on Friday, I've seen it before but never on the big screen and it's one of the best horrors I think, really enjoyed it

No info on what they'll be showing other than vague examples on the website (Vue). One they mention is Interstellar though, which I would absolutely see in the cinema again if they show it. Because the sound production was absolutely stunning in the cinema and isn't recaptured at all in home release, no matter how good a sound system you have. I'd literally be going to re-experience that, more than for any other aspect of the film.
In fact if anyone hasn't seen it or didn't catch it in the cinema first time round, I'd consider it a must for any cinema fan.

Oh just checked the listings for this week and the 3 Matrix films are in one of the cinemas near me. Luke loves those and he never got to see them in the cinema because he wasn't even born when they came out  Definitely going to see the first one this week
I was looking earlier and it seems Showcase are the only ones who have reopened near me. They've actually got loads of films on:
Sonic
1917
A Star Is Born
Back to the Future
Beauty and the Beast
Bohemian Rhapsody
Deadpool
Fantastic Beasts
Grease
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
IT
Jurassic World
La La Land
Mamma Mia
Parasite
Peter Rabbit
Pulp Fiction
Star Wars V
Shawshank Redemption
The Matrix
The Shining
I might go watch Pulp Fiction although they're only doing one showing a day of most of them and it's in the evening, prefer an afternoon slot

Here they’re showing
Jurassic Park
The Goonies
Star Wars V
Black Water: Abyss
Love Sarah
Mick Fleetwood and Friends :conf2:
Michael Ball & Alfie Boe: Back Together :conf2:
Don’t know why they’ve reverted to showing old films, a few weeks ago they were showing Birds of Prey, The Invisible Man, 1917...

I saw this at the cinema when it came out and at the time it was so scary :joker: I think watching it on the big screen makes a hell of a difference. I watched a 10PM/11PM screening which made it so much better :flutter:

The film is decent sci-fi but the music and sound design (imo) really stands out, I was blown away in the cinema. It's still GOOD at home but the cinema sound experience took the whole film to another level.

No word on when they'll reopen here. Heard maybe this month sometime but the site just says temporarily closed still with nothing planned/scheduled for movies being shown.
But damn this thread made me remember how nice it is just to even go see a movie. Kinda missing it now </3

Not sure if I'll bother until things calm down more
I went to my local Cineworld today which reopened a few days ago and saw Goodfellas :hee: forgot how good it is and was great to see it on the big screen, cinemas should show older films more often imo
Then again I was the only person in the whole screening so maybe its not that popular an idea
Also spent ages looking for this thread in the movie section until I realised that in a rather silly move it was put in general chat

Amy Jade

The Empire Strikes Back
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Black Water: Abyss
Unhinged
The Matrix
Little Shop of Horrors
Loads of kids movies and they do a saver movie thing here where it's like £2 to see a movie that's relatively old or just come out on DVD like The Invisible Man is Friday iirc

Jurassic Park
Onward
Tenet
New Mutants
Star Wars
Karate Kid
And a bunch of documentaries and films I've never heard of.
Nothing that would tempt me to go. I won't go to the cinema while all this is happening unless it's a screening that will mostly be empty. A lot of medical advice suggests that cinemas are one of the worst places you can go to atm.

I had a briefing by a staff member about their procedures when I entered the cinema today. Very professional.
