They are the first team to fall due to Covid

Well at least that's one less team to worry about this season.:hehe:

Being serious that's terrible news for not just the Wigan fans but for fans of Football in general as our clubs could be next.

Imo the EFL/FA/FIFA or whoever should be helping these clubs out during these uncertain times rather than punishing them for something that is out of their control.

It is bad news Mock, I agree.

Surely there must have been ways to assist especially in this current climate.

Well I would've encouraged fans to donate money to the club, and maybe the EFL themselves temporarily help finance the clubs that are financially struggling the most until they can get back on their feet.

Also I personally don't like clubs being docked points during the season as it's erasing a club's achievements throughout the season.

Personally I'd do the points deduction at the start of next season if I were in charge of the EFL.

It’s awful for any fan if there club goes into administration, best of luck to the club. Considering how late into the season we are and as others have mentioned, the fact that they’re being punished for something out of their control, I don’t see why the points deduction can’t be deferred until next season?

I think that if they were to have naturally finished in the bottom three then the points deduction was gonna happen at the start of next season instead is what I've read recently.

Fair play to Wigan though they're not going down without a fight, imo they've deserved to stay up the most out of all of us down at the bottom this season, followed by Charlton and Luton.

But a special credit has to go to Wigan, to beat a team like Hull (who aren't a nice team to face) 8-0 is an incredible achievement.
