Wow that looks bad :joker: like a try-too-hard version of the Orville, which remains the best current version of Star Trek <3

It looks decent IMO, like Star Trek Futurama, it's also made by one of the people who made Rick and Morty.

The Orville is ok, but I wish people would stop using it as a bat to beat Star Trek with, it makes me hate the show as a result.

To be fair I think people do that because Orville better represents a "modern Star Trek" than Discovery or Picard, which may as well be their own thing for all they resemble the older stuff :laugh:

Eh, the new stuff is another example of the gentrification of nerd culture :laugh: taking something which can be enjoyed by people from all walks of life but with a loose target audience, and turning it into something for the lowest common denominator.

I'm not saying I'm above enjoying garbage, but there's no reason the stuff they're making needs to be Star Trek, it could be its own thing.

Lower Decks is apparently actually quite decent, a lot of people said it felt a lot like TNG era Trek.

Also there's a kids Star Trek coming up, which sees the return of Janeway
