Ok, well let's go in reverse order, and then I'll add in a few things for you.

Slavery. It's an accepted truth that slave owners were mostly democrats, so there's nothing controversial about that statement. However, the parties switched around due to crow/Nixons white strategy and other reasons that I'll give you the background to.

Lincoln was a republican and he ended slavery, it's all historically known so this has become a right wing ploy in recent years to say that they are accused of being the party of slavery.

I mean, are we really talking about candace's opinions on democratic celebs? The fuelling unrest part is weird, because that just doesn't make any sense. In what context is Jay Z sewing animus across America?

Fatherless homes - again, this is right, but what does it prove exactly? It's also really high in hispanic families too. Other than prejudice, I don't really see what the inference is, other than to offer a nod and a wink to make racists feel comfortable about their racism.

Black unemployment - again, not controversial. However, trump takes credit for this, when the whole economy (pre-covid) was as a result of the obama policies introduced to recover from the financial crisis in 2008, which most economists agree with and it's backed up by all the data. Owens would be completely unable to point to one trump policy that specifically tried to help people of color into work.

Chicago - the favourite trope. Those cities (as have many) have just been abandoned by the federal government for decades so these places are like ghetto's. I guess the inference is that it's blackness that has caused this, and not extreme poverty. It's also no coincidence that red states often get the most federal funding despite paying in the least. The states has been designed like this, when black people built their own city up in Tulsa (known as black wall street), which was a city of upward mobility for freed slaves and their descendants, white supremacists burned it to the ground, and that's a good metaphor for what neglect has achieved over a far longer period. Here's another though, Alaska is one of the whitest states in the us, and it's also the most dangerous for a woman on their own. I'm pretty sure that this fact alone wouldn't convert you to Islam on the basis that they are right about us treating our women like *****s.

There is so much more going on in these issues you raised than what you offer at face value, and that's why candace appeals to white racists who happily accept these attacks without context.

That last paragraph has grains of truth in it, but its far more complicated than that, and shows a lack of understanding of how politics and budgets work in the US. For example, the republicans held the senate and the house for 7 of the 8 years Obama was president, and refused to work with him on anything that was a democratic policy. In the one year he had the senate, he got healthcare for people.

Well manipulating isn't a word I'd use for starters, because it would be completely inaccurate. Also, it's impossible to understand anything in American politics without understanding how their budgets and the co-equal branches of government work.

You could positively affect so many black peoples lives by ending the war on drugs, and getting rid of the private prisons that make more money the more people are incarcerated. This is just a little thing I mentioned to highlight the issue. Republicans will never act on this policy, because of the lobbying system that is set up over there, and how those same private prisons give money to politicians (mostly republicans) to make sure that doesn't happen.

He actually says some really decent things in his rambling but... it really is rambling. It almost looks like a vocalised stream of "racing thought" - like his thoughts have totally gone off the rails and he's just opening his mouth and out they all come. He definitely needs help but it seems that he flat out refuses medication and prefers to ride out these episodes... which at the end of the day is his choice... it just has a pretty dramatic impact when it's someone who actually has a large public platform.

I reckon he's been told so often by so many people that he's special that there's no way he's going to do anything but his own thing. And yeah, he does say some really decent things but did every tinpot dictator in history.

I hope he gets the help he needs or he's going to end up a big joke, and that'll be hard for him to take.
