View Full Version : Best Elder Scrolls game?
One of the benefits of lockdown was I cracked out the old 360 and started playing Skyrim again. Put about 100 hours into it and decided to give Oblivion a go next but I found it really hard to get into after playing Skyrim. I think most people consider it a better game but after enjoying the graphics and combat of Skyrim, Oblivion just felt too clunky and cartoony. Lots of little things like regenerating health, weapons/armor not needing repairing, the ability to sprint etc all make Skyrim much more enjoyable imo even if a lot of the quests are a bit repetitive
I've heard Morrowind is really good although doubt I'd enjoy it as much given my issues with Oblivion. Doubt anyone will pick the first two games but I will include them for completions sake :idc:

Oblivion.
Skyrim is decent, but removed a lot of what made TES good, and 99% of the quests lead to copy paste dungeons

What do you reckon it removed out of interest?
Agree about the quests

Agree about the quests
Spell creation
Simplified guild questlines (College of Winterhold was the worst offender)
Removed a whole boatload of skills such as acrobatics and atheletics
No arena
A lot of Skyrim felt very similar. Whereas Cheydanhal felt different to Bruma, and Bruma felt different to Anvil.
Oblivion just felt so much more in depth

I agree with most of that but I dunno about the places being that similar. Like Markarth is very different to Solitude and Windhelm is pretty different to Whiterun. I think Skyrim just looks so much better as well that it makes the towns and landscape more enjoyable anyway
Is this dungeons and dragons?
Much cooler
