A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a member of staff was stabbed in a hospital.

The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton was put into lockdown after the incident this morning.

Sussex Police said the "apparently isolated and unexplained incident" is not being treated as a terror attack.

"There is currently nothing to suggest that any other person has been involved or that anyone else is at risk," the force added in a statement.

Officers have been working with security staff to make sure that staff and patients are safe.

Yes glad it's not a terrorist.

[Police later said the "precautionary search of the
hospital is now concluding". The hospital is now
running normally again.

...it was a member of the cleaning staff who was attacked but it hasn’t said whether the attacker was known to them...they’re okay though, not critical, thank goodness...

...so good that he seems okay and no serious injuries...’stabbed several times’ could have given a much different outcome...
