I've only visited Manchester but I liked it a lot so I'll choose them. I'd imagine Liverpool would be nice, too.

Liverpool’s where it’s really at as far as the Northwest is concerned.

I've been to Salford, which isn't really Manchester is it?
I think I'll go back to Manchester properly in September, so hopefully will get the chance to visit Liverpool as well.

I’d kill myself before I’d ever move back up north. The absolute pits.

I don’t think there’s much difference in attitude between Salford and Manchester.

Manchester obviously.
Unlike many others who will no doubt declare Manchester as "trash" who probably have never been, I actually like Liverpool, its a great city and is a great day or night out but I'll always be Manc and proud. Great shopping, bar, music and football scenes.

I live in Liverpool for university so I’m a little biased but I love it  it’s definitely better nightlife than Manchester. (Although Manchester is better for shopping/nice restaurants and bars)
I live equal distance between both (like 45 minute car journey) and my family much prefer Manchester

It’s been 10+ years since I visited Liverpool so I can’t remember whether I liked it or not.
Manchester has its own culture, nice places to shop, eat, drink, etc.

Been to both and Manchester is so much better. To be fair, I’ve only really seen the part around Anfield of Liverpool, but it’s a genuine ****hole.

Tough call. I've never actually been to Liverpool :umm2: but, having lived relatively close to Manchester (and my in-laws still living in the same place) I have been to Manchester many times and am not the biggest fan :umm2:...
I'd probably just jump the train to Edinburgh [emoji14]
...I haven’t spent time in either but one of my closest friends is a Manchester gal ...plus Annie and Lucas, so I’ll say Manchester...

Liverpool is awesome. Not too big, very friendly and welcoming. Clean too.
Manchester on the other hand... Err...

I have to say I've always gotten a more positive vibe from those from Liverpool...it seems a bit special somehow.

Manchester. I want one of those little terraced houses with a pub on the corner like the Rovers Return.

Yeah, the people are so nice there and helpful, plus I love that accent (I like the Manchester accent too but prefer the Liverpool one)
