Gypsys stole our dog

I have a 5 year old Lhasa Apso for reference and she's silver so quite unusual.

About 3 hours ago my mum let her out and basically found her missing about 10 minutes later, the neighbours rang her and said a bloke opened the front gate and grabbed her so shes rang me from work and I have gone to look for her and put a picture on facebook asking people to keep an eye out.

I got a facebook message saying she is at a local morrisons tied up outside a caravan and so my boyfriend and a few of his friends went and got her, the woman in the caravan handed her over AFTER first saying it was her dog, she then changed her story and said her kids found her which is clearly BS.

So we rang the police and they were interested until we said Cherry was found tied up at a gypsy caravan site, they literally told me it's not worth talking to them and I'm ****ing fuming, if a stolen dog was found tied up in my garden I'd 1 million percent be at least questioned on how a stolen dog was tied up in my garden. I absolutely hate the gypsys around here, they do as they want and their kids run feral and honestly had Cherry not been seen by somebody I bet she would have been used as a bait dog and it makes me sick to death that absolutely nothing will even be said to them. Wouldn't waste my piss on any of them if they were on fire.

Thanks Joey, yeah I was so so upset and was ready to go up there myself, but my boyfriend was wary so took his mates to get her but what if it was an old lady who had her dog taken, she'd be so scared to confront them.

Now the police wanting nothing to do with it has wound me up, all I expected was them to go and say it had been reported and look around for more dogs but they heard gypsys and zoned out. Makes me so pissed off honestly no wonder some have the notion they can do as they please when the police are too scared to even go to their caravans.

As you point out, it would have ended up a likely worse nightmare had this been an elderly individuals pet.

Aw that's a dreadful story, but at least you got the dog back :love:. If it makes you feel any better, Ireland is going through an insane dog stealing problem at the moment where people are having to be on extra guard now.

I know how lucky I was, thankfully Cherry is a barker around strangers, it's friendly but she likes to be heard so I have no doubt they had her in the van and she'll have been barking so they tied her up outside to shut her up basically or I'd have never seen her again
