Having a junkie waste of skin as a son isn't necessarily her fault  it sounds like a horrible situation for her to be in.

I can't see a single bit of comedy about this incident at all.
It's extremely sad and frightening for anyone, never mind a Mother to have this happen.

I am not a fan of Diane Abbott, I have no respect for her as a politician and personally I think she's a bit dim. However... attacking her for her son's drug addiction and obvious mental health problems is a bit low. I'm sure it's put enormous pressure on her, probably for years.

ok i probably should take this more seriously,
she is just such a joke, i thought that this was too

Hope he gets well soon and she can go and learn how to speak in full sentences without pausing to think after every second word.

How about you work towards a friendlier you? It's attitudes like this that are the issue here imo.
Seems there are certain people it's ok to vent about not sure why.

Very sad for them both

and 1.2 million house makes it sound like she is living in a mansion when in reality she probably lives in a 2 bed in a decent area

It's just a sad situation, the man sounds like he's in dire need of help and I hope he gets it. Crystal Meth is a vicious drug to be addicted to.

It's a bit gross to use this as a stick to beat Abbott with though.

Its actually interesting how much sympathy there is on here for him.

I wonder if it was a tory rich kid who has had everything handed to him in life that went on this rampage if it would be the same reaction.

Well just compare the viciousness Marco Pierre Whites son got on here when in BB, I know hes not a politions son,but he has a rich parent and I would think had everything he wanted, he was into drugs and maybe also had mental health problems but that didnt stop people then from having a go and saying some really nasty stuff. Imo, there is always a reason kids go like this,so we should be kind to them all , not just the ones we favour.:wavey:

Hopefully he will get plenty of help, addictions are not easy to break.

So you're derailing the thread onto someone completely irrelevant without even knowing if Marco Pierre White Jr. has a mental health problem?

What exactly is funny about A mother having to deal with her Child’s drug addiction and mental health issues? The joy some people seem to get out of putting her down is straight up bizarre.

I feel for Diane, i'm afraid i don't have any sympathy for her son. Attacking his mother is not acceptable, he also attacked emergency service workers which is also not acceptable

I don't recall anyone mocking MPW over his sons behaviour... it's not her son under attack here, it's her that's the difference. The sons deserve criticism for their actions. Only Diane is being ridiculed however, why is this?

I have no sympathy for him, but it's not a nice thing to happen to Dianne Abbott, and unless she abused him or something it's not a situation she deserves to be in.

Absolutely, and it has been really good to witness that happen too.

The original heading of this thread was unnecessary in its content.

I'm pleased to see that most who have contributed have seen through the possible negativity and divisiveness.

Then expressed their possibly more reasoned thoughts on the frightening and sad incident this was.

Even from others who have no time for Diane Abbott who at least tried to think of what a nightmare scenario this would be for her,or for anyone in fact.

Even stating, this is likely something that's affected her life for years.

The thread went from trying to possibly only mock and ridicule.
To actually on the topic and issue, receive more understanding of most posters to Diane Abbott, in this very scary incident she was subjected to.
