On the one hand, that's obviously more listenable to than the actual song...

... but on the other, Jesus H Christ, how did "political commentary" sink to the point of whinging about a garbage song by a current "artist"? If Shapiro wants people to think he's smart, he should go back to "debating" students who don't really know anything yet.

Calm down pops, every generation thinks that about the one or two below them  As for me I've always liked older music  #borninwrongdecade

Remember when oral sex songs were more wholesome and only about penises, like Candy Shop?

The fact that this song has got the right wingers so triggered is hysterical

Of course he had to show the video along side it, for the titillation of his sexually repressed audience.

I never heard the song. I was just quoting something that he said that particularly applies round here.

Yeah man, why does anyone even care about it :joker: there are dozens of barely distinguishable songs released all year long, why has THIS one got the YouTube Bros' knickers in a twist?

There’s something about women owning their bodies and sexualities that really gets under their fragile skin, it’s glorious

Well, you have the "objectification" group who only want to hear about women being objects of pleasure for men, so they're not going to like the tables being turned. Then you have the incel section who are angry that female sexual expression exists at all. On this one, they can form an uneasy alliance (until the incels go back to being angry about all of the chads).

It is a genuinely awful "song", though.

Oh come on, "incel"? You're better than that  people who use that unironically are no better than people moaning about SJWs

They actually exist, though... it's not a buzzword insult, it's a very real group of very troubled young men :umm2:. I think a lot of the Reddit groups have been shut down at this point but the mindset 100% exists.

I agree wit TS. Incels are an actual community; they even have Jordan Peterson talking about things like forced marriage, as their intellectual leader.

The "SJW" mindset exists too though  using either as an insult feels cheap tbh, people who fit into either stereotype need to get a bit of sunshine and fresh air and step away from a computer screen :joker:

If he was talking about forced marriage and especially forced child marriage in some islamic communities, he'd be right to be against that. But somehow, I imagine it's some guff about societal expectations and/or women trapping men with babies ......

I thought Jordan Peterson was an advocate of marriage and women knowing their place which is why I wondered what he'd have to say about that

I'm not sure, his Kermit voice really pisses me off so I haven't listened to him in years

Ohwait I tell a lie, there was a debate thing I watched about "PC Culture" with him and Stephen Fry and some people I've not heard of, but AFAIR they didn't talk about gender stuff.

Exactly what it says, women forced to marry men. It's obviously unworkable, and never going to happen, but female slavery is basically what it amounts to.

Did he really say that? And which women should be forced to marry which men? Anyone they chose? Beat them over the head and drag them to the church or what?

Cool yourself off cutie pie, this is my world you're living in now :smug:

I was slightly off, it's enforced monogamy, not marriage if we're splitting hairs.

https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2018/may/23/jordan-peterson-public-intellectual-isnt-clever-violent-men-monogamy

Jordan Peterson may be a ‘public intellectual’, but his latest theory isn’t very clever

The academic believes violent men can be cured by the love of a good woman through enforced monogamy. And he can’t understand why people are laughing at him?

Oh yeah male violence is women's faults......... I'm glad she brought up the stats on domestic violence though, that doesn't back his theory very well

I will admit to being a bit of a puritan about some things, and I definitely think marriage and monogamy should be encouraged, especially if the marriage is fruitful.

But only encouraged, not enforced.

And certainly not to encouraged to "cure" a man of his violent ways, that's the most ludicrous advice I've ever heard

Domestic abusers certainly don't deserve a loving partner.

Unfortunately he has a really big audience and is popular with incels, so apart from the self own, he also reinforces a lot of the worst things in that community, and also tells dudes that may need help, that counselling is bad.

Yeah very true, really unhelpful. I don't get what exactly he's trying to say there though in all seriousness, is he saying women don't have sexual needs? Or is he saying that Counselors are trying to make men feel inadequate by mentioning women's needs and surely the only reason why that topic would come up is if the wife said her needs weren't being met? Also, how does he know that's what all marriage counselors say?

Considering he thought women getting wet was a medical condition, I’m really not surprised he’s seeing a marriage counsellor

Well duh.

A lot of unhappy people would find their mental health improves if they get a job and/or socialise more.

Whoever they are, they sound like the bad guys, and the ones we should be shining a light on.
