Oh Jesus, he must have kept it quiet. It's so sad, Black Panther was an important film to many people and he embodied a hero that represented people who weren't used to seeing someone like them in the starring role of a superhero film. I'm just in shock by this.

...I just don’t know what to say, this is such a total shock.....I had, had no idea that this ugly disease was taking him, I hate it so much...it was only a few weeks ago that I was rewatching Marshall...he fitted portraying such an incredible person as Thurgood Marshall, so perfectly...and obviously Black Panther...this is just too, too sad and too, too wrong...

...I’m just going to use his words with something he said...obviously great wisdom...but so much more meaningful, with the thought that he may have already been looking into the face of his enemy when he said and felt those words...

Terrible news. **** this Year. ****ing **** it.

I had just watched Da 5 Bloods too and was saying he deserves an Oscar Nomination.

So many young kids are going to be devastated at the news. R.I.P Chadwick. Thanks for making young black kids and Men feel like they can be superheroes too.

Edit: ****. I just remembered when he uploaded a video and Twitter clowned him so much for being so skinny that he took the video down. My heart is broken.

RIP.

Absolutely terrible news, 2020 has definitely got to be the worst year in my lifetime, it's constant bad news like this.

Oh and I thought that he was absolutely fantastic in Captain America: Civil War as his performance in that Film gets overlooked by many people.

wtf I didn't even know he was sick, when I saw it trending on twitter I dismissed it and assumed it was one of those troll trends which crop up from time to time...

What a strong man he was, to work on all of those movies while he was going through with that...

Yeah, people will remember him as a strong super hero not by that horrible disease. It presents a real issue for the Black Panther franchise. On the one hand it would seem terrible to replace him, on the other the franchise has been huge in introducing a black superhero into the MCU and I'm sure was something he was very proud of. I'd think that the best path would probably be to cast a new character as a new Black Panther, rather than another actor as the same character. Preserve his character in the movies as just being played by him.

Michonne would be perfect, a strong black woman to take his lead a step forward. Black women need that more than anyone else imo

No way they recast King T’Challa. They will pass the mantle to Shuri imo.

I hope you're okay

I actually think they should recast T'Challa, not to overwrite Chadwick's legacy but to pay it forward. He often said that he owed his career to the opportunities provided by Denzel Washington so to give another talented black actor the chance to play T'Challa and giving him the platform that Chadwick had would be a nice way to pay that kindness forward in Chadwick' name, if his family would be on board with it.

...Leon.....I’m glad that your younger cousins have you, you will be a huge inspiration to them as well...I watched Da 5 Bloods yesterday, because it was on Netflix, so I was able to...such an incredible, powerful movie...it’s not one to be said that I loved as such, because of the content...but just so poignant and meaningful and emotional in so many ways in how much it spanned and covered....in terms of Chadwick personally ...?...(I think..)..that it’s a movie that shows so much that it’s not the time spent on the screen, it’s the impact and presence and attention, how someone totally fills a screen, you know...and I guess that’s the same in life as well...he was here a very short time but what he gave people in inspiration was so much that it could never be measured in weeks or months or years etc...
