why not a good group of investors sending more money into BBC, so taxes for elderly can be lowered

i mean here in Netherlands, we got John De Mol for some channels with his Talpa media group, or the more national channels get funded by Joop van den Ende, tv & musical stage producer legend, and Siebe De Steenwinkel whom also invested lots in talk shows here

Virgin Media for example (Richard Branson) he could do well as a tv tycoon too i guess, would be great for BBC, and great for Virgin (so a win-win scenario)

so just a suggestion from me based on what the tv channel system is like over here in Netherlands

Honestly, i'd rather them just run ads, we deal with it with all the other main tv channels, don't see why it would be a big deal in this day and age.

Or even have a subscription based model like netflix etc.

I agree.

Long overdue for the BBC to be dragged into the now 21st century.

i am already used to ads anyway on all other channels

RTL Deutschland, Sat1 also have their ad breaks, find it kinda fun myself to see ads in a country other than my own

and we dutch even have the ''Ad-break Awards'' like Golden Loeki for Best Ad, and the Loden Loeki for Worst Ad, also separate awards for best ad with celebrity, worst ad with celebrity

i mean if BBC also has the ads same as every other channel in UK, you guys could have similar award show for best commercial, worst commercial, is a nice way overall to see what ads people like most

Which makes your idea
not workable
as John Malone USA
is cutting back on VirginMedia.

is there not some other good media company in UK who could potentially invest in BBC then?

money shouldn't be a problem if you got some billionaire investor though

and rather this than robbing elderly of their money, which is wrong to ask that of your main target audience
