I'm sure city fans will handle this with their usual grace and poise.

Shame, would have loved to have seem him in the PL, even if that meant City.

His heart isn't at Barca any more...will be suprised if he plays many games. He is just sitting out his contract

His heart isn't there because changes are happening that means he has lost his power

It would have been good to watch him elsewhere though LT. especially in the uk.

He hasn't been treated very well by Barcelona, I don't think. They've basically taken advantage of a technicality in the fact that the season didn't finish on time, to stop him leaving for free.

He can now leave for free next summer, and negotiate with other clubs from January.

I don't know enough about that to comment, but I don't think they should have used the delayed season to put a £600 million transfer fee on him, after all his years of service.

He doesn't like it because he doesn't get his own way anymore, he has had many mangers sacked and players sold but here is change with the hierarchy where they put the club bigger then any player, if he wanted to leave he should have in the period of time his contract said not after they was smashed by Bayern in a game he was non existent in.

i think Messi under performs everywhere except Barcelona, he has often been dreadful for Argentina. He is also in the twilight of his career, so a free transfer is the only way he would move anywhere

They didn't. Spanish football contracts generally have release clauses, and that was Messi's. When Ronaldo moved to Madrid, his first contract clause was 2 billion.

He never really performed against Chelsea when we had that awesome rivalry mid 00's early 10's
