I’d keep it safe for when someone comes round to collect it ...

actually that reminds me of when my bro in law in Ireland sold a stove online and the guy rang him about collection and they agreed he would pay on collection, anyway he sent cash through the post and never came to pick it up, that was 3 years ago :worry:

Imagine he turned up now like "Hi I'm here to collect my stove..... what do you MEAN you got rid of it??"

My best similar-ish story is that once I didn't pay the "final bill" on an O2 contract I was ending, and a few months later they got in touch with a demand for payment of £50. I called them up to make the payment, gave them my card details, and they somehow managed to put £50 ONTO my card instead of taking £50 off... then marked the account paid in full.

Never heard from them again, so I never paid the £50 I owed and got a bonus £50 on top :joker:.

The TL just found out yesterday that an insurance policy she cancelled 2 years ago wasnt cancelled and she has been happily paying it on dd - £700 D:

she has been refunded for this year and the rest is "under investigation"

I do love unexpected bonus money. I did a PPI claim about 10 years ago (Barclays) and they replied that they definitely didn't owe me anything... then 6 years later out of the blue a letter arrives saying that it had been reviewed, they had made an error, and were giving me £1600 with a big chunk of that being because they had originally told me incorrectly that I had no claim. I had forgotten I ever even MADE a claim :flutter:.

Spaffed the lot up the wall on computer parts obviously.
