...Awww Sura......he still did okay though with his one safe space cake...

I'm glad Peter got top baker as he's a fittie, but I think I like Lottie best?
I'm surprised Anula was evicted, I thought from how much she was featured she'd be a "main character"
Loriea being eliminated for using too much flavour is a travesty and I'm drafting a strongly-worded letter to Ofcom as we speak
I'm surprised Anula was evicted
I can't wait to see you try to pin this on autocorrect!

Pft and after all that she got evicted first, shocking!

Where did the term evicted come from anyway I didn’t see Davina McCallor a huge purpose built house in Elstree Studios.

tbh "evicted" seems to have become common vernacular for any person leaving reality tv. In this case it kiiiiind of makes sense as they're staying onsite in a bubble!

Disappointed I liked her...wanted the old woman to go she was rubbish.
You can already tell who the favourites are some contestants just don't get any airtime at all!
Rankings after episode 2 (since there'll be no new series of The Apprentice or Survivor this autumn, I may as well treat Bake Off like a trashy competitive reality show):
Lottie (I see Lottie is already being subjected to the exact same "omg Paul Hollywood is rigging it for her because he fancies her!!!!" narrative people tried to project onto Ruby Tandoh years ago, so fingers crossed Lottie turns out to be gay as well)
Sura (not sure she can surpass her performance in last week's ep, in which she invented walking cats on leads then proceeded to knock a fellow baker's cakes onto the floor, but she was still a very fun presence in the tent)
Rowan (terrible at baking, should have gone home this week, I love him)
Dave (a lot of people on Twitter seem to strongly dislike him for no apparent reason, which is weird because he's a pure earth angel who bakes cakes shaped like Blink-182 guitarists and does a shoulder shimmy every time he gets good critiques )
Peter
Hermine
Linda (I like how, between her Bob Marley cake last week and tonight's "high tea in Amsterdam" showstopper, Linda is canonically a total stoner)
Mark
Laura
Marc
Loriea
Mak
...I missed most of this last night, I’ll have to find it on catchup...it’s annoying that my head hasn’t connected Tuesday night with Bake Off night, yet...
...Lottie, though...she’s far too Hollywood for Hollywood.../...he’s not worthy of that much Hollywood...whatever she places in bake off, I hope that she has her own show in the up and coming......lots and lots of Lottie please...
...I love Rowan as well, MB...music teachers all over the world are so very Rowan are the findings of 2020... Being John Malkovich 2../ Being Rowan whatever his surname etc.....

Lottie is the Queen this year.
I quite liked the dude who was evicted, but he wasn't featured enough to really know either way. Same with the top baker this week, he seemed to come from nowhere? But I guess while there's almost the full roster it's hard to show them all!

This year is divided into those who are Lottie, and those who are not-Lottie.
Whatsherface was not-Lottie, therefore her presence is irrelevant .
...I don’t know if it’s applicable to use spoilers but...
...Mark as Star Baker......he was so thrilled and it was lovely to see...it’s such a shame that such a special thing that they all hope to achieve, was overshadowed a bit because of such a popular baker going..so, so sad to see Sura go but obviously happy to see Lottie stay...Lottie had a very poor week and I hope that it’s just a one off week and that she doesn’t find herself so vulnerable again...I’m hoping in the future, she might be the next Matt Lucas or Noel, even...Lottie's Great Bake Off, I’m thinking...but yeah, well done Mark....

Not a fan of Lottie, all that pretend simmering tension between her and Hollywood and she should have left this week
Hermine is my favourite
Shaun
17-10-2020, 01:03 PM
Sad about the elimination :( but there was no alternative, sadly
I think there are too many bland personalities, sadly. Peter, Dave and Laura all contribute absolutely nothing in terms of humour or intrigue... and as much as I like Marc he isn't really fun either.
I only really like Hermine, Mark, Linda and Lottie of those left.
...awwwww, so sad that Linda has gone.....but it was really such an awful week for her, it couldn’t really have been anyone else...

What a lovely lady, always smiling and happy, I'll miss her a lot, especially as there's only 3 or 4 left with any personality.

I wasn't a fan of linda tbh, even though I enjoy bake off you can kind of predict the contestants every season, the quirky girl, the sassy black lady, the travelling hipster bloke, the eccentric older person, the neurotic young guy, the perfectionist, the mumsy one.
I love it though :)

Not when last year exists.
...so sad that Mark went, he’s such a lovely guy...he knew, though that it’s never a good thing when that inedible word is used for your baking...but his leaving did mean that Laura stayed, the world has a way of adjusting and righting itself...and Lottie/Star Baker.....
...as a little bake off aside....Noel Fielding and Lliana Bird have just welcomed their second daughter, Iggy......
...when is the curse of 2020 ever going to end, it’s relentless...Lottie.....it was always going to be her or Laura so always a lose/lose...until the last bake, I think that it would have been Laura...but yeah, either was just looming and just so sad to watch...when Lottie cried, we all cried...well that was just me but...Lottie.....

Agree about Matt and Noel Ammi. I think Matt is trying too hard. Hopefully next series he will have settled a bit but he's too silly for me.
The right person went I thought  Always sad to see people go out at this stage though.

....yeah, some of his jokey stuff feels a bit awkward, like the bakers don’t always quite get him, either...?..and it feels a bit like he’s connecting with some of the bakers more than others...so only being shown with those ones, rather than all of them...I love him, I so want him to be baker fabulous and hopefully he will find that fabulous...

Just caught up with this, can’t believe they let Hermine go, last week they said she had been the most consistent baker throughout and she beat Laura in two of the 3 challenges, also felt it was unfair that they referred to the week as favouring her, Im am sure all of them had a week they were more comfortable with
Won’t bother with the final, very cross

I didn’t mind Peter but wanted Dave to win

25-11-2020, 12:24 AM
The fact that they change their reasoning over who goes out each time between “we judge it on the showstopper” and “we judge it by their time in the tent as a whole”...
Dave should have won imo. Dark horse who aced the final!

It was a bit of a dull final. Congrats to Peter though, out of the 3 he was the most consistent throughout. Would have preferred Hermine in the final to Laura still though

The final was so lacklustre, David was the only one who presented a showstopper imo. James's showstopper looked like an art and craft project

Kinda boring final, I think the winner deserved it but barely.
