Not going to lie, when I was 20, if some jack-booted rent-a-cops had come along and forced us all to stay in halls because of a virus, you'd have found me in the common room soaked in Jack Daniels and other people's spit.

I'm significantly more responsible now but I can't in good conscience judge them.

...I saw those pics earlier ...so the media was crammed in as well then..to be able to take them or they’re just using social media type pics that could have been taken at any time ...who knows...

They look like phone pics, so most likely someone has seen them on social media and passed them to the press.

Ahh yes I thought they looked blurry. So someone has taken a video on their phone and posted on social media, and these are screenshots of the video.

...anyways, to be serious...I’m with TS completely ...(...although dubious about the pics and the story itself...)...I can’t really judge them when it was only a few days ago that students were more or less told they’ll be ‘kept hostage’ from spending Christmas with their families if they don’t ‘behave’...where is the psychology in that...the government might as well have started that party and sent out the invitations tbh...I mean, they’re students, Lord oh Lord...

if they obey the rules nicely, they won't need to be held ''hostage'' in their unis

but now its too late for that

The DM describing this as "a rave" really highlights what the average DM journalist's Uni experience must have been like. :hehe:

...why would they think about older people if they’ve been told that they might not be around older people and kept hostage in their unis...

Exactly  they can party for two weeks solid and so long as no one comes or goes, they're not putting anyone at risk. You can't lock a bunch of late teens/early 20's in a building and then say "but you also can't have any fun in there, either!!" :joker:.

I don't actually see the issue, I think its a good thing that they all mix and infect each other, as long as they are locked down and not mingling which is the issue

If they’re gonna be wrongly blamed for every single bad episode of COVID anyway, they might as well have some fun while they’re there

Are they likely to follow ANY of the guidelines though ??

It’s evolving into a clear ‘them and us’ situation - they just won’t care until thousands of under 30’s end up critical or dying

They're already being charged £5000 for University accommodation that they no longer need, with most Universities refusing to refund.

correct, very good that there are also a lot of young people who can have fun and socialize online, through video games and a live feed, chat

or with all those ''looking back at previous years music festivals'' livestream events, also nice fun live chats in those (so i've seen myself)

these party's are so not really necessary anymore as we can do so much more compared to few decades before online, for fun

Sure
but at this University
they are all young.

Whilst I don’t condone this (although I can see why they are doing it) it’s not just young people breaking the rules. There was a mass protest up London a few days ago, with no one wearing masks. Were all these young people as well?

All young as it's a College Building

Look that was in a College Building
owned by Ni Do Student house
over 200 were there
they can be fined up to
£10,000

Police say the rule of 6 has been broken

SkyNewsHD Reporter was Live at that Location.

Yes but the point I’m trying to make is that all I’ve been seeing lately is young people getting a lot of blame for a potential second wave which I don’t think is really fair. I keep seeing it in the media a lot which I personally think is because it’s easy to blame them and a majority of people will believe it.

Don’t get me wrong what is happening here is not going to do young people any favors (just like the handful of other illegal rave stories I’ve seen) and I can understand why a lot of people are going to point the finger but, there was a protest up London a few days ago, with people not wearing masks which included mixed age groups, it wasn’t just solely young people.

It’s not right that all young people are being tarnished with the same brush (Vile youth, they have no respect etc.) because there are many that are following the rules and guidelines in place.
