TiBB Music Festival: Pittsburgh 08
4 and 12 February 2021

Official Wikia: Click Here! (https://channel-tibb.fandom.com/wiki/TiBB_Music_Festival_08)

It is time to let the competition begin again! I, with Shaun's knowledge AND Riley's (Wizard) lovely ideas, decided to create a spiritual successor to TiBB Eurovision. We've been in Pittsburgh, the Gold Coast, Belgrade, Oslo, Manchester, Rome and Milan, and Copenhagen. Cut to the second week of February, and get ready to "Live Out Loud" in back in the place where it all began, Pittsburgh! What songs will be heard? Where are the constant translations into French? When will the madness end? No idea.

Past editions of TiBB Music Festival:
Pittsburgh 01 - (Winner: Australia, ceremony starts p.4) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=360098)
Gold Coast 02 - (Winner: Serbia, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=361665)
Belgrade 03 - (Winner: Norway, ceremony starts p.4) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363207)
Oslo 04 - (Winner: United Kingdom, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=364908)
Manchester 05 - (Winner: Italy, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366226)
Italy 06 - (Winner: Denmark, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=367392)
Copenhagen 07 - (Winner: United States, final starts p.3) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=368405)

FORMAT
The format of the TiBB Music Festival will remain similar to TiBB Eurovision, however, there are some changes. I will have a Spotify playlist of all of the songs for you to listen to the songs during the voting period. For the voting, there will also be 2 sets of points of 1-8, 10, and 12 points, one for the jury voting, and the other for the televoting.

RULES
- If you want to take part, reply to this thread with the countries you want! But please, if you do reserve a country, I expect an entry.
--From this edition onwards, everyone can choose 1 to 2 countries to participate as.
- In a change from TiBB Eurovision, participants can now choose a song that is already in the public database (look on Spotify or YouTube, there are plenty of songs on either one).
- Lyrics, an artist name, song title AND music video are all that's required.
- Members may only represent two countries, and 1 song and/or singer in each of the other categories.
- Entries must be submitted to me as soon as possible. The events of the contest will take place over the course of a 2 week period.
- And for the first time since Globalvision, countries that are not in Europe or Australia will be able to participate.

You have as much time as you need to find your entries. Please find songs that we all may enjoy, and please don't feel afraid to take part The more entries, the more fun it is to run. Songs can be about anything you like, and whilst we are fairly liberal with what is deemed "in good taste" obviously a song containing 30 different death threats may well find itself lost in my inbox and doomed never to enter.

The winner of this glorious festivity shall also receive a supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics this lovely little award (which has been potentially lost in the TiBB Admin towers)! https://i.imgur.com/pCZ1tmH.png - so if that isn't motivation to bring your A-game, I don't know what is.

Like last edition, the Big 6 (the top 6 of the previous edition) will all qualify for the final. All of the countries mentioned below will be free game (sans all of the ones I have, because some things never change with me, and because of the nature of the new participation rule).

Calderyon

So 1-2 songs for each category?

Coldwinter
30-09-2020, 09:54 PM
If you choose to. I'd personally recommend 1 song per category.

Calderyon
30-09-2020, 09:57 PM
No, I meant that you have to enter 1 song from each country you have to to each category, correct?

Coldwinter
30-09-2020, 10:02 PM
For the Grand Prix category, yes. The other 4 categories work like Sanremo, which there are no countries.

Nicky91
01-10-2020, 06:08 AM
Netherlands, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Germany, North Macedonia, Greece, Croatia, Romania

Calderyon

but previous editions you could have more countries

Calderyon
01-10-2020, 01:58 PM
but previous editions you could have more countries

Yeah, but apparently on this one 1-2 is allowed. I would have otherwise picked Japan too.

It's in the rules in the OP.

Calderyon
01-10-2020, 01:59 PM
From the rules above:

From this edition onwards, everyone can choose 1 to 2 countries to participate as.

Nicky91
01-10-2020, 02:00 PM
ok then i don't take part

Calderyon
01-10-2020, 02:02 PM
Why not?

Coldwinter
01-10-2020, 07:57 PM
Nicky, it's just that because there's so many songs this edition, I had to lower the number of countries taking part (mainly because its such a hassle editing videos). Besides, the songs that you would've used for your other countries can be used in the other categories.

Calderyon, Sanremo has 2 categories: Big Artist and Newcomers. In most cases (in the past 7 years), the winner of the Big Artists round is the entry that Italy sends to Eurovision.

Calderyon
01-10-2020, 08:20 PM
So do we choose to enter 1 singer to each category and then 2 song entries (1 from each country) in the GP?

Can the singers be anyone from anywhere? (Ie: not country bound)

Coldwinter
01-10-2020, 08:29 PM
Yes.

The Grinch
01-10-2020, 08:30 PM
So one singer, two songs from them from each country

Coldwinter
01-10-2020, 08:35 PM
Or two songs from two different singers. Whichever option you fancy.

Nicky91

Coldwinter

I've received Nicky's songs (and my own). I'm pretty excited for this new "era" of TiBB Music Festival, if you can call it that..

Nicky91
03-10-2020, 02:18 PM
bit of detail around my entries

Aram Quartet are a vocal trio from Italy, they won x factor over there

John Farnham's ''you're the voice'' some consider too as a australian anthem

Voltaj's won ''best romanian act'' in 90's at MTV ema's, they represented romania at eurovision in 2015 with ''de la capat'' and this one is more funky upbeat, more like a romanian lake malawi vibe

Mitch Tambo is a aboriginal singer, known for making the final on australia's got talent very recently

Germany (In This Together) it was the theme song for i'm a celeb germany 2020, written by composers for emmelie de forest only teardrops

Ireland (Dynamite), part of westlife's recent new album

Coldwinter
03-10-2020, 04:51 PM
4 of the Big 6 (France, Ghana, Greece, and Italy) are still up for grabs. If any of you other 4 want to take one of them each, that will be fine. If not, then we might have a bit of a switcheroo of the remaining Big 6 countries.

Liam-
03-10-2020, 04:58 PM
I’ll take Italy, how many songs do you actually want? I’m confused

Coldwinter
03-10-2020, 05:06 PM
At least 1-2 for the non-Grand Prix categories.

The Grinch

I'm taking Ghana, which means that France is up for grabs for either Calderyon or Nicky.

The Grinch

I can have two artists for Greece or one artist and two songs?

OK, I'll take France then.

Coldwinter

One artist and song for each country that you have.

Coldwinter

We currently have 4 songs for Alternative, 3 songs each for Foreign Language, Legends, and Newcomers, and 5 out of 14 songs for Grand Prix.

Liam-
05-10-2020, 05:08 PM
I’m still confused, you want a song for each category, as well as one for the Grand Prix?

At least 1-2 songs for each category, and then 1 song for each country in the Grand Prix.

The Grinch

All are in the Grand Prix though

Coldwinter

In preparation for the Legends category later on today; I have an announcement:

For all the categories except for Grand Prix, I am amending the voting system; and you will rank every song in each category on a scale from 1-10. The song with the highest average score will be the winner for the category.

Coldwinter

This new format isn't going to work, so the eighth edition will be postponed until January (with just the Grand Prix), and we'll return to the old format for Christmas. The Big 6 for the eighth edition will remain the same for next edition.

Congratulations South Korea on winning for the first time!

The full results are on the edition's official wikia page.

Now, in other news, we have two big changes to the rules (one of them noted in the video): Relegation and Annual Contests.

From the 9th edition onward, the bottom 5 of the previous edition will be ineligible for selection. This means that these countries will not be listed in the OP for said edition.

Also from the 9th edition onward, we will have 1 contest a year every April; with the Christmas editions happening every December.

Coldwinter
12-02-2021, 08:30 PM
This means that...

China, Denmark, France, Germany, and Italy cannot be selected as countries next edition.

Also, here are winner stats so far:

Number of Wins
• Australia - 1 win (Ed. 1)
• Serbia - 1 win (Ed. 2)
• Norway - 1 win (Ed. 3)
• United Kingdom - 1 win (Ed. 4)
• Italy - 1 win (Ed. 5)
• Denmark - 1 win (Ed. 6)
• United States - 1 win (Ed. 7)
• South Korea - 1 win (Ed. 8)
---
• Puerto Rico - 1 win (Xmas 1)
