A TikTok star has died after her ex-husband allegedly set her on fire while she was live streaming a video to her followers.

Tibetan star Lamu, 30, became popular in China for her videos on Douyin, the country’s version of TikTok, with more than 782,000 followers.

According to Beijing Youth Daily, Lamu was live streaming a video on September 14 when her ex-husband allegedly broke into her house with a gasoline can.

He allegedly held her down with a knife before pouring gasoline over her body with a lighter in one hand.

According to Beijing Youth Daily, Lamu’s fans watching the live broadcast saw it suddenly go black before hearing screams.

Following her death, tributes from fans that flooded the social media platform said she was always laughing.

She had posted more than 200 videos to the site, according to the publication.

The last video she posted to her profile was the day of the alleged incident on September 14. She filmed herself singing a traditional Tibetan song as a thank you to fans.

“Thank you to the Douyin platform for giving me so many good friends,” she wrote in a caption on the video.

“I want to dedicate [the song] to my friends from all over the world! Bless you, all your wishes come true.”

She ended it with the Tibetan greeting “Tashi Delek”, a sentiment of good health, luck and blessings to friends and strangers.

I don't think this was a stunt gone wrong or done for some fame though? She was attacked in her home while she was filming something for her channel?

also by her ex-husband, maybe he still had a grudge against her for the divorce or something (no reason to light your ex up in flames) but still it could be a possible motive
