That's a bit rude.:nono:
This country's belief that the worst thing a politician can do is be uncivil is utterly bizarre

I wouldn't vote for laws that kill people at my workplace either, but I know which of the two you're outraged about!

Sitting yawning at my phone is hardly a sign of outrage..:joker:
I couldnt give a monkey's, never heard of anyone in the video in my life...I just find it interesting how they can get away with stuff at work that we cant.

The majority of their party bar 5 have just voted against a policy that would have fed starving children. Is she wrong?

After tonight's vote I think she's made a pretty accurate description.
I'd guess many are calling them far worse than that.
However it's not House of Commons accepted terminology.
So best avoided.
I'm sure she was thinking, and rightly, what she'd like to add to the original comment, as she was giving an apology.

Clarkson is his name, yes I know his name.
Yeah, pretty much, I'd lump him in with every other Con who voted against children's meals tonight.
Frankly scum is one of the better descriptions of him and them too.
Yeah, I'm guilty as charged by you, and proud to be too.

Because that’s the thing you go to when someone is called scum? Not the fact he voted against feeding children. You think she called him scum because he’s gay?

Be careful what you wish for, this is creeping in more and more into society and we are becoming desentistised when it does not directly involve us , imagine a colleague at work turning around and calling you scum..let that sit for a while, pretty sure you wouldn't be going  Queen! and if it happened on the forum people would be reaching for the report button for sure

Maybe he voted against it as it will come out of tax payers money, maybe the public should be asked if they want to do that, Ide be happy to ,but would everybody ? everything is not as black and white as the media like to portray.

Good point there kaz..I'm like you I wouldn't mind paying a little extra cash to pay for this, but not everyone can afford that little extra and it's not the fairest thing to do..

They don’t mind squandering our money on useless propaganda, or handing out hundreds of millions to give adults a half price lunch out to help the economy, why would they bother worrying if we want to feed hungry kids? That logic is completely nonsensical., we’ve never gotten a say in what happens with our tax money before, to think they’ve suddenly developed a curiosity for public demand is frankly, ludicrous

she should be fined but that won't happen

It is pretty black and white though. The public are never asked asked these things, so why would we be now? Trying to find an excuse for them on this seems a bit beneath you if I'm honest, especially as a parent.

She shouldn’t have called him it there and then, she shouldn’t have lowered herself to their level and she’s apologised, it was impolite, but she perfectly captured a large chunk of the countries feelings on this scenario and it was pretty funny
Tom4784
22-10-2020, 10:45 AM
So what should happen to scum then?
They should be acknowledged as such, Angela shouldn't have apologised. Anyone who votes against feeding children is scum, do you not agree?
Tom4784

Would the same people be outraged about this if it was a Tory calling Labour scum? Just wondering.

we have to hope like the Dominic Cummings effect people don't take it on themselves to abuse others in their workplace because they don't agree with them and then point out that an apology will suffice
we could test it out on TiBB maybe see if Niamh is run off her feet :D:

No..I wouldn't class them as scum..common criminals like George floyd etc are scum...not mps voting on matters they know more about than us.

I would say exactly the same if a Tory minister did that in the House to a Labour colleague so don't try to pull that false equivalence, incredible that some members here know other members minds
Mystic Meg what!

No... a person is not scum. The things they choose to do are scummy, as you say commit certain crimes OR deny underprivileged children food. Both acts can be described as scum.

I love it when you try and fail to use my words against me, as ever, the context is important. You can't just bleat my words back to me if you don't understand context or what they even mean.
False equivalence would be if if you were to compare two different things in order to make one side look worse or better, what I did is simply reverse the situation to question the bias of people who are slating this MP. False equivalence can't be applied when it's the exact same situation but with the sides flipped.
I hope you found this educational, Cherie
I don't need to be Mystic Meg when people are so transparent, I have eyes.
