If it's officially sponsored they'll have been allowed to watch it back after being made aware that it was fake, and will have signed off on it being used. I imagine they probably did the same with others who said no to using the footage - that's usually the case with "prank shows".

The humour comes from the cringey-ness of the situation rather than the act of being ‘pranked’. And I guess also a commentary on how the lengths celebrities will go for appearances, how easy it is to fake positions of power etc. I’m sure many of these will definitely think twice next time they get an email from a casting agency.

And the less famous in the video clearly went to much bigger efforts to secure the role, a role which probably wouldn’t have boosted their career much more.
