I spent just over a year there working as an Au Pair. When I went the family I worked for lived in Darien Connecticut but after 2 months we moved to Greenville South Carolina and I spent 12 months there. Whilst I was there I spent time in New York, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.

Been to Colorado when I was a kid and New York a few years ago then this year I did a road trip through the South starting in Charleston > Gatlinburg > Nashville > Memphis > Natchez > New Orleans > Austin

...amazing people. When we were in Memphis we had great difficulty getting a cab into town for an evening meal. Eventually we were picked up by this woman who had no teeth and a real deep southern drawl...reminded me of the 'Rednecks' in the film Deliverance. She overcharged us but we didnt argue ... After our meal we struggled to get a cab home so the owner kindly gave us a lift...my life flashed before me when he took us on a different route but he wanted to show us other restaurants he had run ...
I have to say wherever you visit in the USA you will always have a story or two to tell..
