View Full Version : Big Blagger ripping off of this site?
I know, posting links to other sites is wrong, but when they're nicking stuff from this site and tagging their own name on it, I think we need to do something about it.

Did anyone give them permission? And they just claim it like it's theirs without any credit to this forum. I know that I capped that picture and I know that others capped the other pictures as well.

That's possible, but with the picture I posted (http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=62612#pid813435) situation, I know that they got it from this site.
The other two are most likely from BeingBigBrother.

Nah, they'll delete all trace because they don't want to disappoint their n00b fanbase. This isn't the first time they've ripped.

It's not the using it that I'm mad about, it's the claiming it as their own by not giving credit at all.

i hadn't seen that bar pic before it is great, and it looks quite big as well
I have my own little story about Big Blagger from launch night id like to share with you all...
When they posted the ''exclusive'' on the all female house I left comments saying that that story had been on here and on DS for over an hour before hand. These comments continued to mysteriously dissapear until I was suddenly banned from the site wihtout explanaiton...
I see they've credited this site in very small text. I hate Big Blagger.
EDIT: PMSL. The saviour of everything Big Brother. Yeah *********g right. Big Brother is the saviour of everything Big Brother!

Perguary is rife on the net so is not a surprise that images and text is used although it would be just polite to ask!!!!!!

its such a shame that other sites feel the need to rip the work off that members do for this site. If they were to ask the actual creators of work they would seem less insignificant.
In fact lets take it as a compliment, they cant be creative enough nor can members so they need to rob off the members of this site!

They do rip other sites off. For example there article SHATTERED, they have fixed the time its posted because an email was sent out by BB Press which journos get at 4.50pm, and their time tries to suggest they had it around 50mins before.

It was a pre-roll to a VT, not in the titles. :) It was about 1 second total, probably.

Don't know if they removed the article or if I'm just seeing things, but their original article that they had with the pictures is now gone.
The "secret" page is still up, though
I would take it as a compliment if they gave some credit, but since they don't it makes me angry to see all of their n00b fans saying stuff like "THANX BIG BLAG UR DA BEST" or something really dumb and in text-talk.

There are tons of better fansites like BBSpy, IBB, BBB, etc. that I wish would get more attention than this sham of a site.

Many of these BB sites are very quiet anyway and it's not very interesting or exciting at all.
If they choose to pinch pictures & info from this site, then it is a sad situation, but if you are looking for an answer for all of this,

I sent them an email and asked nicely if they wouldn't take TiBB members pictures in future without asking/crediting, because it takes time to capture and upload them.
I got a reply this morning:
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your e-mail. I’ve been away for the past couple of days on holiday and leave the site in the hands of my reporters, who also write some of the news articles on the site.
I’ve had a read of the forum post on the site re: my site and spoke to the person responsible for the ‘secret page’. I have decided to remove this page, not only for the fact it uses material from other websites, but the fact is doesn’t contribute much to the visitors.
We have a team of about 4 or 5 reporters who work on the site on a regular basis posting stories. Occasionally when adding more reporters, we do have the few who simply copy and paste from say the official website, or Digital Spy – Most stories on the site, in fact nearly every one is written in our own words and uses our own content.
I apologise on behalf of the member(s), who were responsible for this incident – I think it may be because they haven’t been in charge of the other content before bar the news and have been somewhat overwhelmed.

Just think how many pictures get copied from websites and end up on sites like "Photobucket"
Keeping control of that, is similar to keeping control of Youtube. The second Youtube get a complaint about a stolen video, they will remove it.
Then, someone else sticks it back on there, probably from another source, it becomes 2nd hand, 3rd hand, 4th hand & so on & so on & so on....
Bloo*y internet....We can't live without it, :laugh::laugh::laugh:
Even Multi-Billionaire, Bill Gates can't find an answer to that problem....Too much stuff out there.....
