Turkey i consider a good outsider for Group A

i mean Italy is kinda not really consistently good/dominating

Wales only really got Bale as a powerhouse, Ramsey maybe but idk his form in national team compared to club statistics

Switzerland also not to be underestimated i think, some nice talented ones in there (tbh not surprising for me given i find Basel, Young Boys good clubs of theirs, and Basel had its days they really had some nice surprises in CL against Manchester United for example in group stage, Young Boys are considerably good in EL, and lest not forget those players who actually play in bigger competitions so)

North Macedonia a dark horse either i think after their good streak, especially shock win against germany should've given a decent morale boost either en route for this

The BBC will give audiences 24/7 access to all of the action, analysis and insight from this summer's Euro 2020 across TV, radio and online.

England, Scotland and Wales' opening games are exclusively live on the BBC, and all 51 matches in the tournament are available on Radio 5 Live.

Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan, Eilidh Barbour and Mark Chapman will lead coverage across TV and radio.

They will be joined by a host of former international stars from 11 June.

Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand, Alex Scott, Micah Richards, Ashley Williams, Mark Hughes, Shelley Kerr and James McFadden will all feature.

European Championship winners Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Jurgen Klinsmann also join the team for the tournament, which was delayed by 12 months because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Opening game Turkey v Italy in Rome on Friday, 11 June is the first of 25 live matches across BBC One, BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

That is followed by Wales v Switzerland on 12 June, England v Croatia on 13 June and Scotland v Czech Republic and Spain v Sweden on 14 June, giving audiences the first opportunity to see all the home nations who qualified in action.

The BBC will also have first and second pick of the games at the last 16 and quarter-final stages.

True but I’m all honesty it seems quite ridiculous to call a tournament by the year it ‘should’ have occurred.

After all the whole flamin idea of including the year in the title is to signify what year the event happened ...

I love Bellingham but we have loads of options in his position.. I’d have taken Watkins who’s been on fire of late - THE key factor in a CF ( confidence) especially as Kane is already carrying an injury !!!

Jesus imagine us needing to rely TOTALLY on DCL for our goals !!

Here’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury list just since Christmas !!

Also why on earth give the much coveted number 10 shirt to flaming Sterling !!!

The number ten is widely accepted as THE skilful , creative one of the squad or the ‘gifted’ one !!

It should have been handed to Grealish or Mount or even Foden .. .. certainly not scuff-master general Sterling !!!

We were robbed on the equaliser...the ref did not have a clue about the rules regarding a formed wall and the distance attacking players have to stay away from the formed wall..

Scotland should be awarded the win, and the ref should be banned from refereeing for life

Midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has had minor surgery on his facial injury and will join the Belgium squad on Monday.

The Manchester City man, 29, fractured his nose and left eye socket in a clash with Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger in last Saturday's Champions League final.

Belgium meet Russia in their Euro 2020 opener on 12 June before facing Denmark (17 June) and Finland (21 June).

"The operation only took 20 minutes," said Belgium coach Roberto Martinez. "It went very well, very positively."

Belgium are the world's top-ranked team and De Bruyne is set to be a key player in their bid for a first major title.

"That small intervention was necessary with a view to the long term," Martinez added. "He will not need a long recovery.

https://twitter.com/UEFA/status/1402589859563323394

UEFA has worked closely with governments, health authorities and local organising bodies to ensure the safety of fans attending matches at EURO 2020.

Safety protocols relating to the pandemic differ between host nations, and while local health regulations provide the primary reference point for ensuring supporter safety at each stadium, including attendance limits, they are supplemented by UEFA's own minimum criteria. This means that match organisers at all UEFA matches are committed to adopting best practices based on medical advice to minimise the risk of infection.

"We have been working diligently with the host associations and local authorities to ensure a safe and festive environment at the games," said UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin. "I am really pleased that we are able to welcome spectators at all matches for a celebration of national team football across the continent."

How were the decisions around stadium capacities made?
The decisions were taken by the hosts. The key indicator was the projection of an improved health situation in their host countries. Many factors were taken into consideration, including the local vaccination rollout, their plans for reopening the economy and the expected slow-down of the virus due to warmer temperatures.

In many countries, UEFA EURO 2020 had already been part of their national recovery strategy. In addition, UEFA has worked closely with the World Health Organization (WHO) to adapt the WHO COVID-19 risk assessment tool for EURO 2020.

What health and safety measures will be in place to minimise the risk of infection at the stadiums?

UEFA's main priority is to deliver a safe EURO for everyone. Reducing the risk of infection is our shared responsibility, so we've implemented some new rules.

Supporters attending matches will need to wear a face mask at all times.

• Specified entry time slots for every ticket holder: fans will have a 30-minute window to arrive at the stadium to ensure adherence to social distancing guidelines.

• Hygiene: an average 800 hand sanitiser units will be placed at strategic points around each stadium. All EURO stadiums will be cleaned on a regular basis throughout match days.

• Queuing: clear floor markings will help fans maintain movement without compromising social distance regulations.

• Public awareness: safety measures will be promoted heavily throughout each stadium so everyone is aware of the rules.

• Cashless transactions: every venue will accept card payments, with many using contactless readers.

• What else? Other measures may include temperature checks or COVID-19 rapid tests, but every stadium will be a little bit different.

No smoking
As part of its commitment to organise EURO 2020 in a healthy environment for players, officials, organisers and spectators, a No Smoking policy will be in operation at all stadiums.

At most venues, a full smoking ban will be implemented. Designated smoking areas located outside of the stadium bowl will be in operation in Copenhagen and Munich.

How will UEFA make EURO 2020 accessible for disabled supporters?
All stadiums have been assessed in terms of accessibility by UEFA and its partner organisations in working visits before the event.

Accessible seats considering different needs have been identified and improved where they did not previously meet with the required standards.

Dedicated parking is available for disabled and low-mobility spectators. In some venues, depending on the stadium configuration, shuttle services or buggies are available for spectators with additional needs.

Specific directional signage, along with the support of a dedicated team of volunteers are in place to ensure that all supporters can easily reach their seats and equally enjoy the matches.

mediocre match, not too impressive from Italy, they have done better

Turkey oh well, we also lost our first match at euro's before in 88 and still ended up winning it, their toughest opponent in the group is behind them now anyway, i don't expect much from Wales at all, and the Swiss for me are too overrated also more chances there

stunning opening ceremony :clap1: :clap1: :clap1:

Bocelli slaying like the true legend he is :worship: :worship: he gets older but his vocals still remain so fab

Very impressive from Italy

Turkey pretty woeful tbh

it gives wales a serious opportunity i think. If they can get at least a draw against Switzerland they will be in good shape

yes because Hungary's government no longer has strict measures, and full stadium capacity is allowed there, but also based on negative pcr test only or proof of full vaccination

much easier than in UK

KNVB expects next week will be 5.000 or 10.000 dutch fans travelling to Budapest for their match in knockout phase

in Puskas Arena there is no limit for audience, but fans can only enter if they can show proof of vaccination or recently tested negative, also proof of if you recently had covid and just recovered is ok

the KNVB now looks into possibility into creating a ''Oranje-Fanzone'' close to the arena, from there the dutch fans only could walk as a group to the arena, without coming in contact with anyone non-dutch

The crowd capacity at Wembley will be raised to more than 60,000 for the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020, says the UK government.

It means the stadium will be at 75% capacity for the games.

The increase will also see the largest crowds assembled for a sporting event in the UK in more than 15 months.

"It is great news that so many fans will be able to watch the final three matches of Euro 2020 at Wembley," said Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin.

The UK government has postponed lifting all restrictions until 19 July but the game at Wembley, along with certain other sporting events, is being allowed extra crowd capacity under its Events Research Programme.

Wembley's capacity has been reduced to 22,500 for group fixtures at Euro 2020, but that is set to be expanded to 45,000 - around 50% of full capacity - for two knockout games in the last 16 before the semi-finals on 6 and 7 July and final on 11 July.

the same UK government whom are aware about the Delta variant problems and yet they agree to this

:umm2:

i really may hope the testing procedures will improve then, otherwise the semi finals and final will turn into a huge superspreader event, knowing the UK government stupidity :idc:

So they are saying Chilwell and Mount wont play the next game either

Thought you could pay for a test to release at day 5?

it depends where they finish in the group, because that dictates the date of the next match. On one case, they miss being eligible by 1 day

2 observations from me now that the group stage has been completed.

1. VAR has been close to transparent, and this should be the model going forward. I hope it's like this in the PL next season

2. Having some 3rd place qualifiers has made the games much more interesting, particularly in the 3rd round where previously many games had next to no meaning

Both big improvements i think.
