Most likely scenario is that a member of Vatican staff was having a little instaperv and accidentally hit like while scrolling. Wups.

time will tell, Instagram wont want to take the blame if it isn't theirs to take, its not like it hasn't happened before, could be a disgruntled employee from either the Vatican or Instagram
