Haven't seen this posted on here but what are your feelings about it?
I understand the outrage to be honest, I can't be too specific but I have a patient in work who hasn't been able to even go and visit her husband in his care home because she's high risk and I know someone who had cancer treatment postponed because of health risks and Rita was on TV bigging up her mum for going back to work for the NHS and then she's throwing parties for birthdays...totally irresponsible and tone deaf.

I was going to post about it the other day, she didn't get a fine but paid a 'voluntary' £10,000 ...
One rule for those with money that's all it is.

A selfish act. People have given up so much this year, she could (and should) have gone without.

I read that she paid that instead of the resturant but I think both should be fined really. They knew the rules.
Yeah pretty indefensible imo. There's been a few times when I've thought celebrities have been a bit unfairly criticised for minor slip ups but something like a birthday party actually requires a lot of organising and effort in the full knowledge its a massive breach of restrictions. Saw her say she thought with lockdown coming to an end it'd be alright but we're still a mile away from allowing an event like that to take place so its hardly as if she was just jumping the gun a few days early

It was inevitable.

How could it be spur of the moment, restaurants have been closed since early November so they would need to know in advance to have the staff to cater for a party even a small one

She is a famous dick head just like the other non famous dick heads that have had parties and gatherings throughout the lockdowns.
Life is wasted on these reptiles.

I'll forgive her if she donates at least 100 grand to the NHS.

I can imagine her already planning on how she will write that apology even before she had "the spur of the moment" party. It doesnt come across as very genuine to me.
She obviously thought she was above the rules, not uncommon really. There will have been loads of events just like this going on around the country, most probably super spreader events too. The vaccine cant come quick enough

The only thing she's sorry about is being caught.
It was irresponsible, selfish and dangerous. She should have known better and no excuses, fines or apologies will make up for the fact that she thought as a celeb she was above the law and when caught that throwing £10grand at the problem would make it ok.
So many people have missed out on so many celebrations this year, weddings have been cancelled, birthdays postponed, people haven't even been able to grieve for their lost loved ones properly due to restrictions on funerals. All that is as well as the people who have had life saving treatments disrupted.
Makes me mad
...it was obviously thoughtless/misguided/dangerous etc...and I don’t excuse that ...but she’s fully going to feel the impact of that now and of how the public feel about her actions...so many people may have done similar things but it’s not been known so they won’t face the same as Rita...and every person who agreed/accepted an invitation to her celebration are all equally as careless...
...it is what it is, it can’t be undone and I hope that there are no infections from it and that all testing is done etc...

She only had to wait a few days till we were out of lock down, yes the guests were aware too that it was wrong too and maybe there should be individual fines rather than one fine for the organiser.
It wouldn't bother ritas friends at all as I'm sure none are low on funds, but it will deter the average person.
With any luck however that was the last lock down and we won't need another :/

I think her Mum works in the NHS as well, so really no excuses from her at all

She went on ITV with her mum saying how proud she was of her going back to work and everything
