[Russian woman is electrocuted after dropping
her iPhone in the bath while it was charging
Olesya Semenova, 24, was found by her
flatmate at their home in Arkhangelsk
Friend Daria said: 'I screamed,
shook her, but she was pale and did not breathe'
Paramedics confirmed that Ms Semenova died
after iPhone 8 fell in the water]

Mains near a bath is Crazy.

[When I touched her, I got an electric shock.
'There was a smartphone in the water, it was charging.']

There's a very good reason that there are no wall sockets in a bathroom... You'd have to very deliberately run an extension cord in there for a phone charger to reach the bath.

...(...I was reading...)...that some countries do have electric sockets in bathrooms...Germany was the one that I noted but they wouldn’t be the only country....so possibly Russia as well...and there do seem to have been a few similar phone incidents in Russia...

Its not in any news on TV.

A warning for many to Learn from

..it’s in U.K. mainstream media, like the Daily Mail and Metro...and I’m pretty sure that you’ve posted threads in the news section from social media news at times...so that’s nonsense, Arista...shame on you for not feeling that it’s serious when a young lady has tragically lost her life and that that’s on a par in a section with Marks and Spencer best meal buys...

The phone itself is not dangerous. Drop that in a bath and it will just be ruined. It's because it was plugged into the mains.

If Apple made phones with proper battery life, kids who buy iPhones, would not have to constantly charge them

the phones themselves are waterproof to a substantial depth but a power cord is not. I had special trips installed on my electricity supply with a hair trigger, so it's supposed to stop any danger of electrocution, it trips so fast. It's not expensive and I don't know why everyone doesn't have it installed

It's not about iPhones, it's about basic knowledge of how electricity works with water. It can be a microwave, a light bulb, a toaster, a charging laptop or whatever.
Parents and schools need to do better when it comes to teaching basic life skills and knowledge to kids.
