Is it the unequivocally depressing month that leaves you broke or don’t you mind it so much?

i suffered badly every winter for years, then i invested in a lamp that provides sunlight and also take vitamin D and it works a treat

It's my birthday month so that makes myself and everybody around me very excited because I won't shut up about it and because I get to receive presents and host multiple parties throughout the month.

For some reason last January (2020) I felt in one of my best moods ever, settled into my work environment, was constantly going out with them nearly every weekend, I went to Berlin had a great time, even February was alright. It's kind of funny how worse things became afterwards :skull:

Not too bad, the months fly by so fast anyway : worry:

Fresh start to a fresh year.
Love all the seasons so no problems with January, especially if we get snow.

A good month to get fit and start personal goals.

I like it. There's a sense of renewal and fresh starts and December is so manic that it's nice to have a bit of a breather. Always love the pubs being nice and quiet once the dry Jan brigade and the December part timers exit the stage as well :hee:

My mum always found January depressing. However, I’m ready to take the decorations down and embrace a New Year....

It's definitely the worst month but maybe it will be better this year as it's leaving 2020 behind

That’s a good point.

I don't mind it  . And it's the start of a new year .

But when I was a kid January & September were my least favourite .

you can guarantee every newspaper editor will brief journos they want a 3rd spike, its all your fault/Christmas article as soon as Christmas is over in order to just sell newspapers and not for any other reason or care

also depressing

I don't hate it as much as I used to. Its a pretty bleak month but after the year we've had, I'll be glad to see the start of a new, hopefully better year.

Yeah it is a bleak month. When I was younger I hated it because Christmas was over....and as much as I still love Christmas...I love taking the decorations down and getting my house back to normal, ready for a New Year....

I usually find it pretty bleak but I’m not a winter person much anyway. Jan 2021 is probably gonna be awful though

It's got my birthday in it but I generally have subdued birthdays so it's not much of a distraction from the misery of the month

I'm relieved Christmas is over for another year so it's ace lol! Funding it is super stressful and juggling it with work is a mare so yeah I love Jan :)

Tbh, seasonal depression usually hits me in October/November time so by the time we get to January I've worked my way through it to a point of coping. So the month is usually just ok.
