My question to Mr Obama is...
What exactly are you going to give up?
That's a question the MSM should and will definitely not ask him.
I'd also ask him how he became a millionaire a few times over by being a public servent?

[COP26: USA and China announce surprise declaration
to work together on climate change measures]
[The United States and China
have released a rare joint declaration
on climate change, saying
"there is more agreement between
China and the US than divergence”.
The world's biggest polluters have committed
to "enhanced climate actions that raise
ambition" in the "critical decade of the 2020s".
US climate envoy John Kerry
told reporters at the COP26 climate conference
in Glasgow that there was not just
an effort but an "imperative to co-operate".]

Climate activists say they have deflated tyres on "luxury" vehicles parked in Glasgow, to raise awareness of carbon emissions during COP26.
A number of SUVs in the city's upmarket West End were left with flyers that branded them a "climate violation".
Police Scotland said it was aware of the incidents and it had upped patrols in the area.
Thousands of campaigners travelled to Glasgow in recent weeks for the UN climate summit, which ends on Friday.
Pharmacist Jamie MacConnacher discovered the two front tyres of his Land Rover had been flattened on Thursday morning.
He told BBC Radio Scotland's Drivetime programme that several other cars in the area had been targeted.
He said: "I don't think targeting individuals that have these vehicles is the right way to do it. They don't know what the reason for somebody having that car is."
------------------------
Deflating tyres makes cars more inefficient, thus increasing their carbon footprint. Quite ironic i think

Andy Burnham is right I would agree with him.
If things are going to be done and with full cooperation, then it's action now that's needed, not later.
No more procrastination.

Johnson in leading this, really needed to secure an undeniable success as to immediate action on top of whatever has been achieved in some areas from Nations.
If this turns out to be better and more to be done but thrown down the line for a bit longer.
Then this conference will be seen as being more procrastination with hot air rather than getting down NOW to dealing with the threat to the planet.
They've had the best advice and information all through.
Johnson needed to hammer that home.
Not settle for procrastination again.
It's still ongoing so let's see where it ends up going, if really it's going anywhere at all at the time it needs to.

There's more than S Africa, that needs to do that.
There's been small steps forward which is welcome as to a will to bring about change by near all Countries.
Not enough however, and the PM said at the start of this summit, we were at a minute or minutes to Midnight.
Well with the moderate change possible from this midnight is well out the process.
Of course he didn't say midnight in what day, years or even decades.
It's not altering much at speed at all.

6:00 to 6:03 is the truest and only really relevant part of the whole thing;
"And we're not going to do a damn thing about it".
It wouldn't matter if it was possible to discover solutions ... humanity (as a group) just isn't going to do it. None of the discussion of whether it's actually possible are relevant when you accept the simple fact that we won't anyway. Not in proportions large enough to make a meaningful difference.

The actual answer is we will have to live with it
we cant "solve it"

No the actual answer is we won't solve it and the planet will most likely be uninhabitable in 200 years time (big chunks of it within the next 50) :joker:.
Call me a pessimist. And again that's not an activist-y "WE HAFTA DO SOMETHING", it's an acceptance that 7+ billion humans crawling about the planet is about 100 times too many for it to realistically support. We broke it, it's done. We're actually quite privileged in a way, to be here witnessing the quite clear self-destruction and final days of the only known sapient species in existence. Again that's not a plea to fix it. The deal is signed and sealed lol.
To be fair as I always say I do hold onto a SLIGHT hope but it's not a hope that people in general will fix it. I think there's a small hope that these will be technological solutions to reverse the damage that's been done and control climate directly - or perhaps to live successfully full-time in biodomes either on or off Earth (The Moon, Mars) and humanity will live on in that way (a few million maybe) until the first solution is possible. I can see that quite feasibly happening. The theory behind terraforming is quite solid, I guess they just imagined it'd be Mars we'd be terraforming, not Earth itself :joker:.
i think we will go back to an equilibrium. There will be less habitable places on earth, the population will drop dramatically and as a result, the atmosphere will clear itself out allowing for a reboot
If we channelled all the money currently going into green panic into a technology solution, it would probably be more successful than the situation we have now where people just don't want to change their lifestyles. But, quite honestly, i'm bored of all the hand wringing now, these protestors are just naïve and annoying

Apparently, it doesn’t work like that, there’s a point of no return at which even if all human activity on the planet stopped over night, the climate change effect is self-sustaining and the planet still boils. And that point of no return is long before “natural selection” starts to take care of things.
