Show me some Christmas song that was a good one, since this song, if you can?

Looks like I've set an impossible task.

I do think your song is better, the ones I posted are ok as well though :p

That ain't gonna go down on the Christmas classic list.
And, Cars? I can't hear it myself.
Niamh
Nice efforts but in 20 years time, nobody is gonna be in a hurry to play these at Christmas time. Very forgettable.
Next!
I'm genuinely looking for something to impress me.

I don't think its a classic, its just a cute Christmas song. The darkness is a good song though and you're probably right, its the last long lasting classic

Don't like it myself but Coldplay Christmas Lights??The lyrics in the song say it perfectly. "it doesn't really feel like Christmas at all"

A bit of Gwen & Blake?
3ZT9_H4-hbMThat's the best one so far, still not convinced of greatness though, maybe a few listens will help?
Challenge accepted. In 2003 (same year) Cliff Richard released his Christmas hits album :smug:

very few songs recently I would bother listening to
Even The Wombles did an half decent job of a Christmas song, yet these overpaid pop stars of today are bloody useless.
I just saw that :laugh:Don't worry about it, you brought some resemblance of a decent Christmas song to the thread.

So far, the only one that has any legs to join the school of a Christmas classic is the Kelly Clarkson one, but even that's still well debatable.

The Leona Lewis one was pretty good.
The Leona Lewis one was pretty good.Would that be "One more sleep?" if so, then good effort, but, nah!

Alf we finally found something we agree on!! This is truly a magical Christmas miracle ; )
I suppose Alf should do his top 40 Christmas song countdown thread!
What do you think?
It doesn't matter what you think, I'm doing it

Enjoy
St Patrick’s Day - John Mayer
Lyrics
Here comes the cold
Break out the winter clothes
And find a love to call your own
You, enter you
Your cheeks a shade of pink
And the rest of you in powder blue
Who knows what will be
But I'll make you this guarantee
No way November will see our goodbye
When it comes to December it's obvious why
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
In the dark, on the phone
You tell me the names of your brothers
And your favorite colors
I'm learning you
And when it snows again
We'll take a walk outside
And search the sky
Like children do
No way November will see our goodbye
When it comes to December it's obvious why
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
And come January, we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?
And we'll both be safe 'til St. Patrrick's Day
We should take a ride tonight around the town
And look around at all the beautiful houses
Something in the way that blue lights on a black night
Can make you feel more
Everybody, it seems to me, just wants to be
Just like you and me
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
Come January, we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?
And if our always is all that we gave
And we someday take that away
I'll be alright, if it was just 'til St. Patrick's Day

I can't listen to Driving Home for Christmas. A pub we used to go in had karaoke on on a Saturday night and the DJ always played it in between singers....every week....all year
X factor ruined the christmas song all the years it was on air

Justin Hawkins has a good YouTube channel with daily updates.
I am now willing to say that the Kelly Clarkson song "Underneath the tree" can join the list of Christmas classics. It's not as good for as the Darkness song but it is a Christmas song that will join the annual classics and stand the test of time.
It took 10 years to win me over
