Starts tonight.
I fancied Gerwen Pryce to win it, but there wasn't much value for him in his odds.
I've gone for a bit of value and gone for Gary Anderson at 33/1 and Scott Waites, in his first PDC championship at 300/1

Starts tonight.

I've gone for a bit of value and gone for Gary Anderson at 33/1 and Scott Waites, in his first PDC championship at 300/1Scott Waites wins his first round match in an epic game. It went all 25 legs (3-2 every set) Both players played great, neither deserved to lose. Game of the tournament so far.
Nathan Aspinall up next for Waites, so he's gonna have to play well again to beat him.
2 time champion, Adrian "Jackpot" Lewis was knocked out of the tournament this afternoon by some American chump.
Another former champion, Rob Cross also falls at the first hurdle.

Whitlock and Ratajski will be tough, I slightly favour Whitlock.
Mervyn looked very impressive first round and I'll tip him to beat 1 hit wonder, De Sousa.
What do I know?
Ratajski stuffed Whitlock 4 sets to nil. Whitlock couldn't hit his doubles, Ratajski was solid throughout. Accumulator down first game.
Next up Huybrechts vs Searle.
I'll tip Huybrechts to just get over the line in this one, although I did predict Searle to lose in the last round.

Van Gerwen won his match against Ricky Evans, in style and will play Joe Cullen in the next round after he knocked out Johnny Clayton.

Forgot to mention that James Wade did a 9 darter yesterday, it wasn't enough to help him win though.
Gurney had just missed the double 12 for a 9 darter.

Gerwyn Price, through to the semi finals, where he'll play Steven Bunting.
Gary Anderson will play the winner of Van Gerwen and Chisnall. Chisnall has taken the first set, first to 5.
Dave Chisnall beats Michael van Gerwen, 5 sets to nil.

Gary anderson v chizzy will be fireworks.
If chizzy slows down ando will get enraged, but also if chizzy slows down to put ando off then chizzy will lose cause he is bang on with his usual pace.

yes impressive from Chizzy, that 5-0 over MVG :laugh:
however must honestly say i found MVG playing quite awful compared to his first matches here
Amazing performance from Chizzy, nice to have a couple of different faces in the semis
If he plays like that today he should beat Gary but its a hard one to call. A Price-Anderson final would be interesting just to see if Gary can keep his cool amongst all of Price's antics - you know he'll turn them up massively if he sees it getting in Gary's head

It's a big challenge for Chizzy to get up again to that level for two nights on the trot.
I remember Wayne Mardle beating Phil Taylor in the quarter finals and the next night he couldn't reproduce it and lost to Kirk Shepperd in the semis.
I've backed Gary Anderson to win the tournament at 30/1 but I wouldn't mind if Chizzy beats him, as long as he won the final too.
If Chizzy and Bunting both win today then both finalists would be from St Helens, what an achievement that would be for that town,.

Playing in british legions with some if Scotlands old school darting legends from the darting circuit as you learn your craft will have taught him that.

33/1 was wrong, I got 30/1 for Anderson.

hopefully Gerwyn does it but Ando has been there and done it and the stage is set for him again although Gerwyn seems to suit the longer matches so think the longer it goes on the more likely Price is to win, same happened in the GSOT when he beat Ando in the final
Ando was 50/1 pre tournament which is crazy odds for a 2 time world champ, i went for Gerwyn but wish i had a few quid on anderson as well now

Gerwyn is a **** and I'll never root for him but he was class for 75% of that.
Although I do think if Anderson had another couple of brighter spells he'd have taken it. Price was ready to throw it away.
no crowd helped Gerwyn when he was missing match darts tbf could have got hairy for him if the crowd was there and he kept missing doubles, Ando just did well to make the final all things considered, Gerwyn has been the best player on the tour this year though and pretty fitting he won the world title and become #1
i miss the BDO at the lakeside this time of year, usually good to tune into even if the standard has dropped massively, depressing when they moved it from the lakeside tbf just seemed to lose all its soul
Yeah that was an awful decision to move it to the O2. No atmosphere, the venue was half empty a lot of the time and the whole experience was more expensive for the fans for a worse product. Part of the charm the BDO had left was the Lakeside setting
I was googling it the other day to see when their worlds started but either never realised or I'd forgotten that the BDO doesn't even exist anymore, not surprised the way they ran things
