...filming was closed down in October because of many diagnosed cases in the crew and it is their health and livelihoods, so it’s easy to understand the passion of his ‘rant’...hopefully, mission accomplished for a safer set and working environment...

I can understand why he lost it.
There's a lot if pressure to keep the movie going and a lot of jobs depend on it.
Cast and crew all have families to support and their mortgages.
It's good that he cares enough to make sure the set is safe and everyone follows the rules.

Normally I'd say he could have controlled the outburst to make it less of fouler language and be more reasoned.

However, this is his and others livelihoods in an industry reeling from this virus.
It doesn't matter he's extremely rich, it's his and others careers and in this difficult year, trying to keep some things going is commendable and so I get his passion with anger on this.

I always try to be reasoned if I can be, however on this virus, I've thought much the way Cruise clearly has on what has angered him as to others complacency.

Some people, even in extended family have infuriated me really strongly on their thinking, denial and dismissal of the dangers of this hateful virus.

Had I been in their presence, I think, perhaps without the language going more foul, I'd have exploded too.

So I'd support Cruise's stance on this, in this incident certainly.

Proud to say I've never seen a single movie that he’s starred in.

Brief encounter is a classic though. To a lad who grew up in the age of the video shop, Cocktail is a classic. Admittedly, as an adult I understand it no longer is a classic, but for those early teen years of mine, it was then.

If he got me fired from my job, I'd be looking for the little weasel to give him a good hiding. I wouldn't care less who the Hell he thinks he is, and his security would cop an unfortunate one as well if they fancied their chances.

Yep he's a twat. . So what if he's famous that doesn't give anyone extra rights to be offensive.

He's seen in the clip in a small, half full cinema, close to Co stars maskless .. any of those are potentially virus spreading scenarios too. He isn't infallible.

Thing about it is imo he only spoke to those guys that way because they were no one "important" you generally don't hear these celebrities speaking down to people on their own level of "importance"

I didn't dispute that Nicky, my issue is the way he spoke to them, it's highly unprofessional to speak an employee like that and if he wasn't who he was he'd probably be being brought before an employment tribunal

exactly. You cannot shout and swear at your workforce as that is bullying. If they didn't follow guidelines then follow suitable protocol for their corrective action

I understand the passion and the anger but it's hideously unprofessional to scream and threaten people like that, never mind hypocritical considering that he's going on about people's livelihoods when scientology is a cult designed to separate people from their savings.

He just comes across as a vile bully here when if he had a sense of decorum, it would have had more of a positive impact.

I understand him being angry, I understand being frim that it cannot continue, I possibly even understand a slightly raised voice (although that indicates a loss of control of the situation).

Swearing at employees and calling them "mother****ers"? That's a mile over the line and you wouldn't get away with that in any other industry so there's absolutely no reason it should be acceptable in the entertainment industry.
