Over the next couple of weeks the attention draws to tennis because of course Wimbledon is on but who are you supporting and who do you think is going to win this years men's and women's singles titles? Will Henman actually get past the first round this year?

What do you think about the women getting equal pay to the men for the first time?

The weather seems to be okay at the moment with Federer closing in a straight sets victory over the Russian Teimuraz Gabashvili.

I obviously want Henman to do well and progress as far as possible but it will be hard for him, also like to see Federer, Nadal, Roddick and Sharapova win their games simply because they play some amazing tennis. As for the pay situation it's good to see they have changed things, they deserve equal pay IMO.

I dont think Tim Henman will get that far,its a shame Andy Murray had to pull out and i reckon Roger Federer will win again.

Federer has won his match. Roddick is in a tiebreaker to get his match

Play stopped in the Henman match due to the light.2 sets each and Henman had match point on 4/5 occasions but Moya just kept fighting back.

Even if Henman goes out at least he's gave it his all and it's made for an enthralling match.

Henman beats Moya to go through to the second round. What a great game of tennis that was.

Anyone know when Alex Bogdanovic is playing? He's a decent young Brit and might get through.

Henman out then, started off fairly slow and then in the 3rd and 4th sets he came back and played some great tennis but he just seemed to lose it in the 5th set, quite surprising how he seemed to go from playing so well to just throwing it all away.

Ah well only one Brit left in then.

BigSister
28-06-2007, 06:47 PM
Yeah she lost this morning
We have 1 double paring through though bloomfield and Marray won and Andy murrays brother Jamie and his doubles partner are a set up too

Dan_
28-06-2007, 10:01 PM
That's good.I'd imagine Murray's brother and his partner should do well, they seem to have been winning a lot of late.

BigSister
28-06-2007, 10:04 PM
Yeah they eventually won too and theres a third doubles pair not through yet but still battling hard so they might get through tommorow

Serena - ouch!

Hope she is able to continue and she plays Venus in the final

To be honest though, Henin has it won this year.

Jankovic, I like her too, has guts.

BigSister
03-07-2007, 01:08 PM
lol like groundhog day. I was just looking on bbc website thinking that sharapova vs venus was a quarter final then i find out its only a fourth round match that got me confused

Dan_
03-07-2007, 01:12 PM
It must be so annoying to have stop-start matches, would loose your focus.

There's still a fourth round before the quarter finals? oh crikey it will never end lol.

BigSister
03-07-2007, 01:16 PM
Yeah thats what i mean thats why i got confused

They'll just play Quarters and Semis on outside courts.

Mauresmo and Jankovic gone.

Federer is getting about 5 days rest, just to help him even more :joker:

BigSister

oh I know ITH BBc website are making me laugh though they put Rodger is just lounging around watching the jermery kyle while the rest of his housemates are worring about their matches

Dan_
06-07-2007, 06:45 PM
Venus Williams vs Marianne Bartoli in the final then, pretty surprised that Bartoli has made the final but she did very well coming back to beat Henin in such a convincing manner.

The match going on right now between Gasquet and Roddick has got more exciting as it's gone on.

It should all be over by Monday now.

BigSister
06-07-2007, 07:45 PM
Roddick went out dan but it was a great match from what I saw

I think its going to be a Federer vs Nadal final but you never know...

Dan_
06-07-2007, 07:46 PM
Yeah I watched it until the end, very good match but it's a shame that he's out.

I reckon it will be Nadal vs Federer again and all.

Dan_
07-07-2007, 09:15 PM
It is Nadal vs Federer again then :laugh2:.Federer just outclassed Gasquet, the first set proved to be the most exciting though. It's a real shame that the other semi final was settled on an injury.

I'd bet on Federer winning yet again.

Well done to Venus Williams on winning her 4th Wimbledon singles title, didn't see the game but by all accounts it seems she pretty much dominated and was only really phased by Bartoli's short shot game.

A big well done to Jamie Murray and his doubles partner Jelena Jankovic on reaching the mixed doubles final, could be the first Brit to win something at Wimbledon in 20 years!
