Piers Morgan flies to Antigua over lockdown for holiday (non essential travel)

Normally I’d not be too fussed, but the way he has called out government members and made a massive fuss about following lockdown rules and attacked government for breaking rules it’s completely hypocrisy.

The rules at the end of December were essential travel only... he flew for a holiday break. That is not essential travel

Fair enough if you’re not gonna call out others for not following lockdown rules/call for people to be fired/attack celebrities for not being good role models?

I have been looking at this and apparently his excuse is you were allowed to go directly to the airport if you lived in Tier 3 :shrug: I mean wtf? pretty sure Sussex went into Tier 4 on Boxing Day and London was already in Tier 4 so not sure that washes very well

but here in my country (my province too) also one comedian Christel de Laat (she even got awarded a ribbon for her efforts in coronacrisis, amid first wave) basically she says ''Stay Home people'' but meanwhile she goes off having BBQ's with friends, or saying she cannot wait for theatres to reopen as quickly as possible, or going on holiday to Italy, or going to the shops each day of the week like its a nice day trip

That’s my belief. I would never even consider going abroad when we are in lockdown or being so wreckless.

But it’s more frustrating the fact he fees need to crucify others for simply travelling to see ill family members, or travelling for child care, or going to funerals and forgetting about the mask when standing up inside during covid. Yes those are rule breaks but to go on holiday and fly is much worse than both, at least they had actually reasons to flaunt the rules (still not acceptable but more understandable)
