Damn, I watched Knives Out and Inside Man recently, and he gave amazing performances in both films, especially the former.
RIP. What an age.

I loved him in the film 'Beginners' about ten years ago with Ewan McGregor, amazing performance and I'm sure he had many others I'm sadly unaware of yet. RIP

Aw R.I.P. to a really good and versatile actor.
One of my favourite films is ' The Scarlet and The Black'.
He was in that with Gregory Peck..
What a talent.

Obviously  I was just more impressed by his performance in Beginners, and wrote that because I hadn't seen some of the other roles he's been admired for (Knives Out, 12 Monkeys, etc.)
I didn't know he was the voice of the villain in Up  and I'd forgotten he was in the American remake of the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo as well, thought he was great in that.

Thats really what I know him from....I just love that film.
...the most recent thing that I’ve watched him in was as J. Paul Getty in All The Money in the World ...I think he was a replacement casting for Kevin Spacey....?...but Christopher Plummer was perfectly and excellently cast, I thought...I’m not sure that I’ve seen him in a huge amount of movies, though...only a small handful...
he was such a versatile actor, he also did things like return of the pink panther to serious drama
