It was an apple orchid, the summer of 81, last week of the summer holidays between primary school and high school.(not p6 and p7) Tracey just confirmed that.


Me and Tracey, alone. Touching things for the first time, hands down each others fastened Jean's. Me. Me..finding the first hole I found..The wrong one,

Tracey whispering in my ear, "I think you've got the wrong hole"

Tracey telling all her mates, her mates humming the finger of fudge theme tune of the day to me in the corridors of the spooky new high school.
