I feel shame having to snub Hancock, Alf Garnett and The Good life.

Fletch - "Do you know who made our raspberry blamange last week?" "Riggs, and he's in here for poisoning"

Godber - "Did he really"

Fletch - "Yeah! he's a cause celeb in his home town of Newcastle under Lyme, come to think of it, most of his relatives are under Lyme now"

Godber _ "Is that why they call him, arsenic Riggs?"

Fletch - "Oh no! that's because he once sat on a razor blade"

Rising Damp:

“Suppose you come from an old family.
Yes.
Yes, born to it. It was the same in war time. You know, my old captain, he came
from a good family. Not like these tuppenny ha'penny 'gentlemen' you get
nowadays. He always carried a walking stick. Smoked a pipe. I never saw him
ruffled. Whenever Jerry opened up he'd just lean on his stick and say ' where
do you think yhat is coming from, Sergeant?' Everyone else would be diving for
cover. Not the captain.
What happened to him?
...got blown up by a shell.”

Love Rigsby, probably my second favourite character behind Alf Garnett. Yet I chose neither of those two's sitcoms in this poll. Too many good shows in this poll.

Some classic childhood memories sparking in my head just reading those titles.

We used to sing the tune to butterflies when my mum was serving up dinner.

Parm, I changed my mind, Dalglish was better than Keegan. I was wrong.

Be happy that you are correct now.

Was it the hair that made you think Keegan was better?

Obviously Fawlty Towers, it's borderline impossible to actively dislike it!

All of the Man About The House Television Universe shows.

Sure, my vote for that was for "all of them" :D

Well, Robin's Nest is my least fave, but I do like all three.

Don't know most of them but chose one's I've seen and liked episodes of on TV channels showing old programmes. Then get to know most of them, they're all out there, the only person stopping you is yourself.

Better than the garbage on the television these days. You never know, you may learn to laugh again.

My new years eve nickname as a kid was gangadin cause I was the wee boy carrying the whiskey and cans for my dad, and his pal, who i called uncle dave.

The look on my biology teachers face as we all walked in in my first year at high school was a sight to behold.

My dad and his dad were neighbours so it ended up a traditional thing...something to do with being in the war together or something.

Michael Bates was fantastic as Bearer, but Michael sadly passed away after series 5. It was a huge character for the show to lose, but they went on for further 4 series after his death.
